Huge delays for Northern counties getting to games in Croke Park if they all have to show their passport at the border.
10-20% dearer tickets for Northern counties depending how far sterling falls.
I suggest any All Irelands won by Northern counties while the UK was in the Eu be handed back. We'll take the 3 Tyrone ones 😉

And the ones Down won? We can't let that happen otherwise they want to split Kerry in Mid Kerry, South Kerry, North Kerry, West Kerry and East Kerry. In other news it might open the doors to a Kexit.

I'm not sure I should travel to the Munster Final because the border might be closed on the way back! 😀

The border thing is a conundrum .....
I hope there isnt one but it begs the question, what would be in place to stop "any" Europeans flying/boating into the South and then coming straight up north and across to GB if they wanted? .. I know they wont get a National Insurance number but when has that stopped people in the past.
There's also the possibility of more Europeans coming to RoI just to stay/work there as the access to GB is obviously going to be more difficult.
Also, surely big business will be flocking to the South now .. even before the vote I heard hundreds of London Lawyers were registering in Dublin over the past few weeks ,, just in case !!!
Interesting & curious times ahead !! ..

I think the only practical thing is border controls between the island of Ireland and Britain.
That might be resented by some people. But checking passports at airports or ferry ports is much more palatable than the alternative.

Huge uncertainty for businesses of all shapes and sizes and that will affect all aspects of Irish life jobs, economic planning, stability across Europe etc.

If Kerry left, they'd be passport controls on the borders causing huge queues at places like Adare and Macroom. Oh wait a minute........

For a county like Kerry that depends a lot on tourism from the UK as well as selling the likes of Kerry Group products into the UK, its hard not to see how Kerry wont be hit hard if Sterling falls a lot against the Euro. Dublin could benefit from lots of companies relocating headquarters from London to Dublin but Kerry wont see much of that.

Lame, witless effort. Expect better from wwn. If we keep voting in gombeen politicians then we deserve to be the subject of ridicule both humorous and downright mediocre. That's really the jist of the article

That's really the jist of the article Lowry, Ray Burke, Liam Lawlor, CJ... We're not the only ones. Anyway, don't mind us being slagged off but make it funny at least.

Gombeens are those who exploit public authority for personal gain, and it extends way beyond public representatives, many of whom are actually straight. Gombeens wouldn't constitute 1% of the population but they siphon off 25%+ of the economy or roughly €50b+ pa. It is of course the reason we have such inequality, between insiders and the rest, between East an West, etc, etc. I have often raised it here but few take me on, then it invariably comes up and we all want to know about it.
The GAA is very exposed as it is such an enormous voluntary sports community, like no other anywhere in the world, that is relative to the size of the country. Just imagine the impact that €50b would have on things like the pressure players are under? Our emigrants could all come home and life would be so much better. I have had some unfortunate personal experiences here and ordinary people would think I was mad if told you some of the stuff I had seen. But of course there is no luck in it and things catch up on the scuts, so maybe there is a God there? I suppose the reality is if one has no word then they have little left and bad news travels fast as we are also a bit begrudging.
