Game over poor game. Crokes not at their best will have to do far better to if they want to go any further.

The Nire beat Carbery Rangers by five points. An indication of the shockingly poor standard of Cork senior football at the moment. Croke's will absolutely annihilate Nire in the final.

Yea that's poor from Carbery. To me Castlehaven are the best Cork team and has been for the last few years but lack consistency. You're right though Cork football has gone back.

Gavin White the standout performer in a poor Crokes performance. Would like to see him get a run in the league but unlikely it will happen I'd guess if Crokes progress beyond Munster/U21 commitments.

We wont know the true worth of this Crokes team until they meet a Vincents or Corofin. They are by far the most consistent Club in Kerry and Munster for a number of years now.

Brigids and Corofin play in the Connacht Final on the 27th. Should be a very good game. Crokes play the Nire. Slaughtneil play Kilcoo in the Ulster final. The Leinster semis are on. You would expect Vincents and Rhode to come through there. Of course Kenmare are playing Adare also that day. This Saturday the 19th Crokes are due to play Stacks in the Division 1 Final at 2:30 in Lewis Road but that game might be off. Crokes looking for a break.Another good game on Saturday too is the O'Donoghue Cup semi final between Spa and Rathmore in the Stadium at 2:00. The East Kerry minor Final between Crokes and Firies is supposed to be on this Sunday the 20th. Still to be confirmed. That will be a good game too.

Good win for Crokes today over stacks. Sets them up nicely for next week.

Good win for Crokes today over stacks. Sets them up nicely for next week. Seemed to be a reaction to the flat performance of the Loughmore game, as you say it sets them up nicely for the game against the Nire next week.

What team had Crokes out? Did they rest many From what I heard there started pretty much their strongest lineup.

Crokes put in a good performance against Stacks but you have to take into account that Stacks have very little or nothing done over the last month to 6 weeks and didn't seem like they had much interest in the game. Our lads deserve credit for a professional performance all the same, especially after such a lacklustre performace against Loughmore/Castleiney.
Crokes starting 15 was:
Shane Murphy Luke Quinn Eoin Brosnan Buddy Leary Alan O Sullivan Fionn Fitzgerald Gavin White Johnny Buckley Ambrose Donovan Brian Looney Colm Cooper Micheal Burns Tony Brosnan Daithi Casey Jordan Kiely
PJ Lawlor, Mike Milner, Jamie Doolan, Chris Brady, Paul Clarke and Cillian Fitzgerald were introduced from the bench.
Tony Brosnan received Man of the match.
Gavin White is a player with limitless potential, I think he has a right chance in starting for Kerry this year. I have seen all this group and previous come through the grades and there have only been a handful of players who can influence the game as much as he does at his tender age of 19. I believe him to be one of Crokes most important players along with Colm and Shane Murphy.
Kerrygold - While I do think the future is bright for Crokes, I don't think that Crokes will have it all their own way over the coming years. I think the County Championship is as competitive as it has been in years and numerous teams are capable of winning it in my opinion.

Gavin White is an excellent player. Surely him and Shane Murphy will be there next year. Crokes have had good minor teams the last 3 or 4 years. I think if you get 6 or 7 of this years team to graduate to Senior you would be doing great. Naughton Potts Shaw and Courtney are the obvious ones. Neil Doherty Mark Fitzgerald Lorcan McMonagle Jack Griffin Mark Hartnett Mark O'Shea and Josh Fleming are others maybe down the road who might get a look. I hope Pat O'Shea will stay around for years to come cause hes the best man for the job. Legion and Rathmore are very strong right now too at underage level in East Kerry and Firies and Fossa are getting better and doing great work at Underage level. I think they will definitely be around for another while but these teams are going to get better soon. Gneeveguilla has had good minor teams too the last two or three years.

Unfortunately White and Murphy won't see any game time for Kerry in the NFL if Crokes win on Sunday.

You're right jigz but hes better than Kelly and Kealy. If Crokes do lose i hope they bring them in both in. Daithi Casey too is another guy i hope they look at next. He's still only 26.

Gavin White will be with the 21s next Spring so would only be getting a look in with the seniors for the first round or two of the league even if Crokes lost on Sunday, which wont happen anyway. But I agree that him and Murphy are good enough to be in with a decent shout of making a championship panel in 2017.

Crokes just shading it first half. Stat of the day - only 2 of the 21 players Crokes used today haven't represented Kerry (senior, junior, U21 or minor) at some level.

Lawlor correct Shane Murphy was junior, U21 and minor keeper for Kerry. John Payne was the other one. This also doesn't include Andrew Kennelly or Mike Milner (hurlers) or Cillian Fitzgerald, or the minors from this year of David Naughton, Michael Potts, David Shaw or Billy Courtney.

Jamie Doolan and Alan Kelly also represented minors. Doolan won an u21 All Ireland also. The strength of our bench is a hige indicator of fellas keeping other fellas on their toes. I honestly believe Gavin White should actually start next year for Kerry...maybe I am being a little biased but I believe him to be Crokes most influential player at the moment and hes only 19!!

Corofin next for Crokes it seems? Looking forward to seeing how they cope at the business end against the top club sides with a proven track record in this competition. Both Salthill have Vincents have won it outright in recent seasons.
Seems crazy clubs have to wait nearly four months to contest a final. Surely it would be better for all involved to play the All- Ireland club final on St. Stephens Day or else on new years eve/day.
Would also give fringe players a chance to play NFL for their counties.

I knew we probably forgot someone - this was the topic of conversation on the car journey home from Mallow. Totally agree that having a strong bench is a massive plus.
