Crokes will earn it in Clare on Sunday and I wouldn't be putting any money on them to do it.

Crokes will be delighted to see Clonmel out but I am not sure they can go all the way to Croke Park on St Patricks Day; many believe that the current squad is the strongest they have had in a no of years yet the vast majority of this years team is the team that went to battle in 2013/2014 with the likes of Gooch,Fionn, O'Leary, Looney, Buckley, Eoin Brosnan, Moloney, Alan O'Sullivan,Ambrose, Casey all having played against Castlebar in '14; the loss of Gooch that day so early in the game was undoubtedly a factor in their demise and gave added impetus to the Mayo side. The addition of Shane Murphy is a big plus with the likes of Micheal Burns/Jordan Kiely available to call on as the games progress. I think a lack of physicality plus the heavy pitches often encountered in February does not always suit their style of play. On evidence, you are correct. However, I do think that Crokes are more equipped this time around. Crokes now have a bench and any one of 6 players being introduced will not weaken the side, this has never been as important especially with the black card rule and work rate of modern teams. Pat O' Shea's influence alone is like a new player to the team. Gavin White and Shane Murphy are invaluable players in the team. Tony Brosnan, Jordan Kiely and Micheal Burns have all matured and Crokes now have a panel of players that I think could compete considering the ease Ballymun and Castlebar had in their most recent AI adventures. The thought of Ballymun or Vincents does scare me but if they were to meet then it would be Croke Park and this could very well suit Crokes style of play more. Crokes in general are physical team at present with Moloney, O' Sullivan, Ambrose, Buckley, Brosnan and Casey. Vincents pipped Ballymun 0-12 to 0-11 tonight in the Dublin S/F.

The midweek Championship games in Dublin under lights is a great idea. Would love to see similar in Kerry.

The midweek Championship games in Dublin under lights is a great idea. Would love to see similar in Kerry. never going to happen though. too many lads living away in Dublin, cork etc. too long travel times even for those still living in the County.

Good win for Vincent's . You would expect them to win Leinster . Corofin and Brigids and castlebar makes Connacht really competitive. Slaughneil or kilcoo in ulster I think anyway. Club is great cause it is a lot more open every year as opposed to county football.

Went along last night-Vincents looked good and should have too much for either Judes or Castleknock

Easy win for Crokes. Kilmurry/Ibrickane were poor. I thought it would be tougher . Colm Cooper Daithi Casey Gavin White and Mike Burns were best for me.

I think Pat O'Shea will tweak the lineup a bit. I would not be surprised to see Luke Quinn start in the Backs. Possibly Mike Milner or PJ Lawlor come in also. Mike Burns Tony Brosnan Jordan Kiely could start. They might want to rest a few before the Munster game. It's good they have options. Alan Kelly Cillian Fitzgerald David Naughton Jason Lyne Mark Egan Paul Clarke Billy Courtney Shane Doolan Andrew Kennelly David Shaw Jamie Doolan Bryan O'Shea and Chris Brady are all options. Gneeveguilla always rise their game for Crokes. It will be a battle. Pat O'Riordain in goals. Darren Brosnan John Sheehan Timmy O'Leary Connie O'Connor DJ Murphy Philip Cremin Dean Crowley Padraig O'Connor Fergus McAuliffe and Conor Herlihy maybe Don Murphy in midfield. Danny O'Connor Donal Murphy Conelius Buckley Shane O'Sullivan JJ Herlihy Padraig Doyle Mike Murphy Padraig O'Sullivan Jamie Brosnan are good options. Seanie O'Leary will have them ready for this one.

Some serious options there for the Crokes! Gneevguilla played St. Marys (challenge) in preperation for this championship and were soundly beaten. Crokes will have way too much for them.

I wouldn't be so sure deck. I think no matter how Gneeveguilla are playing they could still put it up to Crokes. They could lose a league game by 10 points but the next week push Crokes to 3 points. Crokes are the Kerry of east Kerry every team out here raises their game and wants to beat Crokes. Crokes have some big games coming up with the Munster semi the week after and then stacks in the division final the week after that so I expect pat o Shea to experiment a little . He might rest Cooper on the bench and Buckley is injured so I think he will go 10 Burns 11 Gavin o Shea 12 Looney 13 Kiely 14 Kieran o Leary 15 Tony Brosnan . In midfield Ambrose and pj lawlor or Mike Milner. 5 Gavin white 6 Alan o Sullivan 7 buddy o Leary or Milner 2 payno 3 Luke Quinn 4 fionn . I think he'll keep Shane Murphy in goals. Cooper Eoin Brosnan Daithi Casey Jamie Doolan Cillian Fitzgerald and Bryan O'Shea maybe or he might try one of the Kerry minors .

G'guila are an up and coming team with many minors from the last few years involved with the senior team. When these players mature I can see them getting back to Div 2 and possible compete at intermediate level but I expect this to be a few years at least. However, the final versus Spa/Rathmore will be a much tougher task than yesterday. Crokes looked lacklustre at times and a performance like that may not be good enough to win a Munster Club. Perhaps it was that Crokes shuffled around with 7 changes from Kilmurry IB game....Alan Kelly, Luke Quinn, Mike Milner, Micheal Burns, Bryan O Shea, Tony Brosnan and Jordan Kiely started with Murphy, Buddy Leary, Gavin White, Eoin Brosnan, Brian Looney, Johnny Buckley and gavin O Shea making way. Quinn, Milner, Burns and Jordan Kiely did themselves no harm in giving management more headaches with good performances, especially Jordan who received Man of the match. Pj Lawlor and Jamie Doolan were introduced with 20 minutes left, PJ has a serious engine and gets in to great positions but his ability on the ball is poor at best. Jamie looked very lively after being plagued with injuries recently but his kicking needs to improve and has a tough task in getting a game with Jordan and Tony both ahead in the pecking order. Andrew Kenneally, Cillian Fitzgerald and Jason Lyne were also introduced but game was effectively over with 10 mins remaining.
Loughmore Castleiney next up today week and these will be no pushover, a tough physical side who have won 3 of the last 4 Tipp championships turning over Munster champions Clonmel Commercials on their way to this years title.
Crokes by 5.

I agree with that assessment hugh. Kiely Brosnan and Burns are great young fellas with loads of ability. In fact I think Jordie plays a lot like Pat O'Shea did in his day. Full of tricks. I think they will go back to the same team that they had against Kilmurry.

Crokes by 5. I think Loughmore are the club of the uber talented McGrath family known mainly for hurling but they are all fine footballers also. A serious dual club who will come with spirit and talent. Crokes have too much talent on the bench for them I suspect. If in a tight corner, I expect this talent off the bench to pull Crokes through

I think Crokes should have too much for them. This is the strongest Crokes bench in a long time. Kelly solid back up keeper. Cillian Fitz, Naughton, Quinn, Lyne, Milner, Shane Doolan can also come in there in the backs. Milner, Lawlor, Eoin Brosnan, Daithi Casey, and Paul Clarke can all play midfield. Burns, Tony Brosnan, Kiely, Jamie Doolan, Brady, Kennelly, Bryan O'Shea, Shaw, and Courtney can all play in the forwards. So any of them can come in for the last 20 or 25 minutes. It's a good headache for Pat O'Shea to have.

Crokes v Loughmore - Castleiney @ 2PM on Sunday November 13th in Lewis Road (Crokes Pitch). Good Minor Game on in Gneeveguilla at 11:30 Sunday morning between Crokes and Gneeveguilla. The East Kerry semi final. Should be a good game.
Some very good minor players on view. Billy Courtney, David Shaw, David Naughton, Mike Potts is injured. Neil Doherty, Mark Fitzgerald, James McAuliffe, Lorcan McMonagle, Murt O'Shea, Conor Harrington, Mark O'Shea, Jack Griffin, Brendan Coppinger, Mark Hartnett, Josh Fleming, Roan Delaney, Shane O'Connor.
Edmund O'Sullivan Mike and Vince Cooper and Caoimhin O'Donoghue are over the Crokes. For Gneeveguilla - Connie O'Connor, JJ Herlihy, Ciaran O'Connor, Shane O'Sullivan, Jamie Brosnan, Pa Warren, John O'Leary, Sean O'Keefe, Hugh Cronin, Dean Crowley, Jack Cremin, Jerry Cronin, Thomas Fleming, Brian Brosnan, Evan Cronin,Owen Fitzgerald, Conlin O'Leary. Donal O'Connor and Joe McCarthy I think are in charge of them. Should be a good game.

I heard that Kenmare informed the County Board at last monthly meeting ( Oct) that they do not wish to play senior football next year, instead opting to stay intermediate and compete with district team in the county championship; they were informed that they did not have a choice and would be expected to compete at senior level by rule- doubt if this is end of this matter with Milltown/Castlemaine having a keen interest in the outcome.

Would think that it would have to be the end of it really. It would distort both championships if they didn't go up. Wouldn't be fair on anyone

It wouldn't hurt them to give it a rattle. Kieran Fitzgibbon is a decent keeper. Tommy O'Sullivan Dara Crowley Dara O'Shea Mark Crowley in the backs. JM Fole and David Hallissey in Midfield. Patrick O'Shea Paul O'Connor Stephen O'Brien Sean O'Shea Kevin O'Sullivan Sean O'Leary in the forwards. Not a bad side.

The Kenmare district teams becomes Templenoe plus maybe 1 from Tuosist? Not ideal.

also kilgarvan will have a football team in the county league next year so kenmare wont have john mark foley or Patrick shea next year if they go senior.
