Solid display by the Crokes. Back really stepped up today. Fionn was back to his old self. We will see what happens in Munster now. Overall this year was a competitive championship. Hopefully Fitzmaurice will bring in some youth now. Of the players I saw this year. Shane Murphy easily the beast keeper this year. Backs Gavin White Patrick Clifford Midfield Barry O'Sullivan Forwards Adrian Spillane Tony Brosnan . I expect to see them in the league.

Shane Murphy is the find of the championship and has to be trialled in the upcoming league- given the evolving role of goalkeepers in the modern game, his pinpoint kicking is better than anything we have seen from the present incumbents- is a good shot stopper too.

Did Eoin Brosnan actually play corner forward as selected?

Congrats to Crokes, by far the better team. Not sure if Kenmare were just flat on the day or if very tactically astute Crokes just wore them down very quickly. The outcome of this game was pretty clear 20 minutes into the first half. Adrian Spillane started at corner forward and was obviously not fully fit and his hard running was missed by Kenmare. Eoin Brosnan picked him up and had a very good game for Crokes and indeed it is a compliment to Eoin at this stage of his career that he was tasked to deal with Adrian Spillane from the off. Spillane was Kenmare's best player last weekend. The Gooch looked bright all through and hopefully Crokes will give him the honour of leading Kerry out in 2017. Croke's true worth will emerge over the coming months. Kenmare will be very disappointed with their performance today.

Congrats to the Crokes
The hard work put in by them at underage level paying off yet again for them. I can see them having a right crack off the All Ireland Club. The quality of personnel on the bench indicates the overall strength of the team - Kiely, Burns, Milner, Doolan etc
GAA in Killarney is so strong at present - Legion in the final last year, Crokes winners this year.
Re Kenmare -pity they didn't find their best form on the day. Injuries and missed chances were no help. The Kenmare and Templenoe lads have had some run of games over the last few years, I wonder will fatigue set in?
On a point of clarity can someone explain to me the Spillane's. Pat is Pat's son, Adrian and Killian are Tom's sons?Is John a brother of either?

He's definitely not a brother I heard he's like a third cousin to them I think.

He's definitely not a brother I heard he's like a third cousin to them I think. 2nd cousins.. John Spillane's grandfather, and Killian/Adrian/Pat's grandfather were brothers... John's father (also named John) was a very good defender in his day, and would have played on the same Templenoe teams as Tom/Pat/Mick

Local rivalries now kick in for the intermediate. Templenoe have fared worse injury wise after the Senior Championship sprint for Kenmare district -'A grain of rice will tip the scales' And people wonder why the divisional teams are losing ground.

Thought Crokes looked the likely victors from the early stages. They were a lot more powerful for the day that was in it weatherwise, and tactically they seemed to have more about them. Crokes isolated Kieran Ó Leary inside and, although his man did as well as could be expected taking into account the quality of fast ball coming in, Ó Leary caused untold damage to Kenmare. Things also didnt go their way with the injury to wing-back Clifford who was one of the few able to take the fight to the Crokes. Also, Kenmare were very unlucky directly after their goal when John Payne clearly struck kenmares no12 right in front of the umpires, and in full view of linesman Seamus Mulvihill (who didnt go to the referee). After consultation with umpires, the referee bottled it and gave a yellow. The score was back to 3 points (possibly 4) but the extra man would have made a huge difference to Kenmare at that stage. Overall Crokes the better team by far on the day with Fionn Fitzgerald, Brian Looney and Kieran Leary the pick for man of the match even if i think that the Gooch, who was quietish, was awarded it

How's Conor Geaney progressing in relation to possible future Kerry senior since being in Kerry minor winning team in 2015?

Patrick Cilford 6.killing young (had solid year) 7.Gavin White (contender for player of championship ) 8.Barry of Sullivan(if he had mark next to him in semi ithe could all be so diffrent 9.Seamus Scalon (some performance against chokes in 2nd round) 10.Daithi Casey 11.Adrian Spillane (wat a prospect) 12.Phillp of Connor (5/6 points against chokes says enough) 13.Mark Reen (fantastic) 14.Paul "all star" Geaney 15.Colm Cooper... can't say enough of good things about this man

I cannot see Shane Ryan in the forward line given the competition for places- Geaney, Kiely, Tomás O'Se, Liam Carey, Burns, Spillane, Sean O'Shea, Brian O Seanachain- think Ryan will start in goal , his best position in my opinion.

Shane Ryan doesn't want to play in goals . He wants to play outfield . He won't play there for Rathmore and he told Jack he won't play there for the u21s .

folks did Adrian Spillane ever play county minor or u21? what age is he now? I think he is 23 or so.. He was on a minor panel under Mikey Ned, but I think a few of them were dropped off the same panel.. That said, he improved steadily with age, it is surprising he didn't get a run in the U21s. I believe his last year u21 was 2015, and he was on the training panel for that (I think).. Templenoe's Junior campaign made a huge improvement to his overall play.. I think he could be ideally suited to the inter county scene at the moment.. Highly mobile, fast and able to carry the ball through tackles. It would be great to see him get a run for Kerry in the league. Patrick Clifford is a similar player in the sense that he loves to attack, but is also a very good tackler.. He was unfortunate with injury. He is of the same grade as Killian Spillane but got badly injured at the start of that minor campaign.

He was no.12 on Darragh's first u21 team and a sub the following year if I can remember correctly. He has done enough for me over the past 12 months to get a run at wing forward in the NFL.

folks did Adrian Spillane ever play county minor or u21? what age is he now? He was a minor in 2011 and was often used as a sub- that team was managed by Mickey Ned and were beaten twice by Tipp in Munster - we were beaten in Tralee and beaten again by them in the Munster final in Limerick when Spillane was introduced late in the game- Tipp went on to win the All Ireland.

It is astonishing that you name 22 players from the county championship and, to the best of my recollection, only 1 (Paul Geaney) was in the Kerry squad for the AI Semi Final.
