Does this mean that the Kenmare district team will be shuck next year? Pity as they may be on the cusp of winning a championship. What is the situation with promotion from intermediate to senior for 2017? Winners of intermediate will replace Kilcummin or Milltown in senior ranks next year. That is almost a borderline punishment!

Kenmare have a full forward line that will threaten Templenoe if they can get the ball into them.
Templenoe can count themselves fortunate to be in the final. An Ghaeltacht missed 3 good goal chances (Eanna's miss after Templenoe's first goal was probably the turning point) and should have got something from the game. Teddy Doyle was good for Templenoe as was Gavin Crowley, Ghaeltacht had to effectively sacrifice a forward to watch his runs forward. Morley and Sean Mici had a good tussle. Killian Spillane got little change from Marc O Se, one of the moments of the game was when Marc won a 50/50 ball in front of the terrace, ran onto the ball, chipped it up to himself and gave a trademark pass to his teammate. Will we see him do that again in the stadium?

Very dis-spirited Desmonds performance. Fielding injured players and leaving fully fit usual starters on the bench made no sense as Kenmare worked their way to inevitable victory. Desmonds were definatley leg heavy and one has to wonder about the training that and they have being doing in preperation for this game.Fair play to Kenmare, a much more balanced, commotted, and skilful side. Heard from a Castleisland man this morning that Desmonds were doing 3 hour training sessions leading into the game with their trainer running them hard. players were far from impressed supposedly. Madness by the trainer since these boys are only amateurs! No wonder they looked so heavy legged during the game.

kenmare had it very easy against desmonds, game over at half time. desmonds had no attacking threat, waste of time bringing on tomas hickey after half time, damage already done. Stephen o shea and kevin Sullivan excellent for kenmare. man of the match had to be Kieran brennan of desmonds who controlled midfield and ran at kenmare scoring 1 2
second game was a game gaeltacht left behind them. while templenoe missed chances in the first 10 minutes, gaeltachts at the end were very costly. templenoe struck for 2 suckers of goals when they were struggling with the wind.[why for such an experienced goalie he didn't come out and pressure the kicker especially for the second?] enna o connor and Adrian spillane had a great battle at midfield, both would be worth a shot with the Kerry senior training. great to see brian Crowley appearing first time this year after injury, also john mark foley in first game.
business premises in kenmare will be in a dilemma as to what colour flags to put up!

easy win for kenmare today in the final. on top all over the field and kicked some great points. full forward line of o brien , o connor and o shea were excellent. john mark foley held Adrian spillane at midfield. templenoe were flat from the off, 2 years on the go and missing vital players [4] through injury took its toll.
hope the injury to Adrian spillane is not too serious, looked a reckless challenge from the terrace but no free awarded. definitely red card for me
kenmare out next sunday in tipp, on todays form will take stopping

Adrian Spillane has become such a pivotal player for club and district he is now on the radar of opposing teams and unfortunately he will be targeted, that's the reality. Intermediate sides will struggle to mark Kenmare forwards, scratch that......Senior sides would struggle and they have a realistic chance of winning the intermediate AI I think but one step at a time I suppose. Best of luck to them in their Munster campaign first of all.

However, I said that senior sides would struggle to mark them. Most senior sides struggled to mark them this year and the evidence is there. Crokes are going on to represent Kerry at Senior level and Kenmare in intermediate....two different ball games. I don't think there would be many sides, if any, at intermediate level that would have the players to mark the Kenmare forwards. I give them a right chance for AI glory.

Well done to Kenmare on their Munster Final win. They join Ardfert and St. Mary's, at least, in completing the double at provincial level.

You missed this bit AunascaulOr Annascaultil2007 as he will be known from now on. Ah yeah Junior and Intermediate my bad. Is that in consecutive years? Impressive. Also til2007 is very good but there a West Kerry in 2009 and I was still on the bandwagon at that time.
