He played on after it happened. Interesting to find out if it was concussion or what, and if it was, why he wasn't taken off? Was talking to someone who went to the game, and he said he hit the post a fair crack.
He's been having an injury free season, and playing well too, after years of injury troubles. Hopefully he'll make a full recovery.
Certainly puts the result of a match into perspective.

Please God, he will be ok. Serious questions need to be asked (and answered) if he was allowed to play on in the circumstances described above.

That is great news. He was a wonderful player. Steve McDonnell and he were a fearsome duo.

I hope Ronan makes a full recovery.
I remember the Mayo minor goalie getting knocked out cold in similar fashion about 7 years ago in Croker.

Great, classy forward who should have won at least another All-I but his team grew old before him. Then injury curtailed him. Hope he gets over this, freakish.

Fantastic player, can't believe he is only 32. Haven't seen him in an Armagh jersey for a long time. Hopefully he makes a speedy recovery .

Some more encouraging news has emerged from the Ronan Clarke situation as the former Armagh star has been moved out of intensive care.
The 32-year-old was in an induced coma at Craigavon Area Hospital after suffering a serious head injury after colliding with a post during a club game with his native Pearse Og last Friday night.
Clarke’s family confirmed that his condition had been improving over the last few days however, with the Gaelic Life newspaper reporting more good news on his recovery today.
It is expected that he will undergo more tests over the next couple of days.

He must be one of the unluckiest players about ... He was some player for Armagh and that was one hell of a FF line he was in .... He deserves a bit of luck now so hopefully he'll come out of this 100% ..
All the best big lad !!

Great news that he seems to be on the mend. Hope the GAA will learn from this in terms of management of concussion and think about padding the goalposts. We want the game to be played with intensity but must do everything to prevent avoidable injuries.

Not sure that padding the goalposts is really feasible in football. It's ok in rugby when shooting at below bar level isn't a thing.
It's rare enough event, to be fair and there's other ways a person can get badly injured on a football pitch.

Hopefully he'll have no further issues.

Like many I didn't comment because all has been said, so can I now speak for all us Kerry Forum lunatics, we look forward to having our Ronan back, what a guy, and that's from the 'enemy', and Sully above put it well.
