www.todayfm.com/skysportsNot only can you express your opinion, you can win prizes while you're at it. I'll be combing the counties for candidates before any slots are allocated. No harm in publishing selections here if/when you're done so we can have a chew!

It's very very tricky. Positions 10 to 15 in particular.

My unbiased team ......................Stephen Cluxton....................... Marc Ó Sé...........Neil McGee.......Anthony Lynch Tomás Ó Sé.....Seamus Moynihan....Philip Jordan ...........Darragh Ó Sé....Sean Cavanagh............ Paul Galvin...Declan O'Sullivan...Oisin McConville Colm Cooper...Peter Canavan...Ciaran McDonald Some of the calls were so marginal that I'm not even going to argue with people saying "how could you pick him and not him", there's 30+ players who have a legitimate case for inclusion as is always the way with these teams Honourable mentions to: Diarmuid Murphy, Justin McMahon, Karl Lacey, Tom O'Sullivan, Conor Gormley, Graham Canty, Kieran McGeeney, Aidan O'Mahony, David Moran, Brian Dooher, Pádraic Joyce, Alan Brogan, Brian McGuigan, Diarmuid Connolly, Steven McDonnell, Eoin Mulligan, Michael Murphy, Kieran Donaghy, Bernard Brogan. EDIT: Canavan in for Michael Murphy

I'll be days at it I gave honourable mentions to those who just missed out, those you listed there were/are top players but they didn't come near for me, apart from Higgins and McMahon probably. A lot will say Higgins/Lacey ahead of Lynch but I was a big fan of Lynch, safely the 2nd best corner back I've ever seen behind Marc.

The point is that 15 good players do not make a team. I went for a team that would work well together and though that was not the thing they asked for I believe that you'd almost surely end up with 15 Kerryman if you want to choose a team out of that with players that complement each other. Gooch, Moynihan, the 3 Ó Sé's, Maurice Fitz, Declan O'Sullivan and Paul Galvin are sure starts and in my opinion David Moran, Dara Ó Cinnéide and Tom O'Sullivan as well. That means 11 already out of the 15 and personally I would choose Murphy over Cluxton. After that I probably will have to move players around to pick players from other counties, but I thought it would be a travesty to leave out Aidan O’Mahony, Eoin Brosnan and Kieran Donaghy. Throw in Darran O'Sullivan, Mike McCarthy, Paul Murphy, Anthony Maher, Bryan Sheehan (one of the best free takers ever), Éamon Fitzmaurice, Mike Frank Russell, Tommy Grifin, James O'Donoghue, Paul Geaney, Donnchadh Walsh and Killian Young and I think you will have an unbeatable panel

I having nothing to do with this because Sky are sponsoring it!
My guess is that there will probably be 5 Kerry players (3 O Se's, Gooch and AN Other), 3 Tyrone (Canavan, Cavanagh and An Other) 3 Dubs (Cluxton, Brogan and AN Other), a Donegal player, an Armagh player, a Mayo player and 1 more (Galway or Cork).

If you were to pick that selection the way it should be picked and leaving the undoubted political wrangling that will come into it you could end up with 8-9 Kerry players alone
You could have off the top of my head:
Cluxton
Marc O'Se Mike McCarthy Keith Higgins
Tom Se Seamus Moynihan Karl Lacey
Darragh John Galvin
Galvin Declan Sullivan Dooher
Cooper Murphy Canavan

I was going challenge some selections but thought it's not really about that it's just a gallery of folks personal views/selections.
There are pretty much no rules to the competition so weightings on length of service for example are entirely up to each person or squeezing corner forwards into the half forward line if necessary ...
Full back is a nasty fadhb to solve. Can folks fill that position with a full back? Neil McGee only one I've seen thus far

Goalkeeper: Stephen Cluxton - Dublin Right Corner Back: Marc Ó’Sé - Kerry Full Back: Seamus Moynihan - Kerry Left Corner Back: Ryan McMenamin - Tyrone Right Half Back: Tomas Ó’Sé - Kerry Centre Half Back: Kieran McGeeney - Armagh Left Half Back: Philip Jordan - Tyrone Midfield: Darragh Ó’Sé - Kerry Midfield: Sean Cavanagh - Tyrone Right Half Forward: Paul Galvin - Kerry Center Half Forward: Declan O’Sullivan - Kerry Left Half Forward: Oisin McConville - Armagh Right Corner Forward: Colm Cooper - Kerry Full Forward: Padraic Joyce - Galway Left Corner Forward: Bernard Brogan - Dublin
I have had numerous variations of this team. Those in and out include Keith Higgins (no All-Ireland), Peter Canavan (retired in 05), Brian Dooher (a toss up between him and McConville). Admittedly some of my Kerry pics could lose out. I'd have Moynihan on any team but he retired in '06 so it could count against him. Paul could in theory lose out to Dooher or some other half forwad. Trying to pick the forwards was almost impossible. Gooch was the only easy pick.

Reminds of 'Spot the Ball', ludicrous competition.

Too many injuries curtailed his greatness for me to put him in this list .. But in 2005 he had no peers IMO.

Cluxton Marc, J. McMahon, McCarthy Tomás, Moynihan, Jordan Darragh, Cavanagh Dooher, Declan, Connolly Gooch, O'Neill, Canavan
Unbeatable.
It was hard not to pick Maurice Fitz, but he was nearing the end 15 years ago.

For a change this isn't a pointless debate because ye are trying to pick the best 15 not in your opinion but trying to pick the the best 15 that someone else will pick.

Today FM is a Dublin station and Barry Cahill is on the panel so expect the Dubs to have at least 3 on the team despite the fact they have won only one more all Ireland than Cork, Galway, Donegal and Armagh in the 15 years covered. John O Mahony will surely pick a Galway player - probably Padraig Joyce.

So hard to pick a team! Can't help but look at the players I left out, Darragh and Tomas, Maurice fitz, Keith Higgins, Steve McDonnell, Stephen O'Neill, Dermot Earley.
