Pity as they had some nice stuff, a replica of the jerseys of 81, 79, and 39 I think, PJs, etc... I thought there would be a good market for that kind of thing but maybe the economy was a factor. Alot of girls like wearing the pink or purple versions of the jerseys but they are not the traditional colours obviously.

€2, green T-Shirt from Pennies, the players won't know the difference and it will save you the price of ten pints.

O Neill's sometime have t shirts & hoodies with GAA slogans, had a quick look at the site and cant see them but in the warehouse you might be lucky. Hairy Baby is another option for a jokey one.

I've give my first born for one of those 1981 replica jerseys [br They are nice. Apparently the original Jersey for the 5 in a row was class but that were forced to change it at the last minute by the GAA. I'd love to see what it looked like. The ones they wore on the day were terrible. Kerry seemed to be ahead of the curve with merchandising in those days. The O'Neills website or Gaa.ie might be worth looking at.

I heard that it was the same style as Adidas's jerseys for the 1982 world cup, as worn by Northern Ireland amongst others. Green with gold pinstripes and a gold wing collar. I have seen photos of Kerry players wearing it for training sessions in later years. As you said, it was changed at the last minute, as the Adidas markings were too obvious. The eventual 1982 jersey was terrible alright. It was a weird kind of lime green. The 1981 jersey was class, and the green togs went well with it. I find the white shorts thing old hat with the current Kerry strip. Might be good to change to green togs. Attachments:

Since it's all gone a bit Gok Wan in here I'll give my two cents. I think the green shorts would look well also, a darker green would show off the gold hoop better as well.
Might be worth putting a white box on the back and black numbers in it so player's can be more easily identified. This generally isn't a problem with the football seniors because you know their heads, but with other Kerry teams it can be a bit tricky at times. I'm going off a bit here on a tangent, but the hoop is a problem across the board, try to pick up the numbers on the backs of Legion players with their white over white numbers, forget about it.
