I could not agree with you more. We had some very good teams in recent years and just not good enough. Kilcummin winning it was a huge achievement, they failed to nurture many of these players though. The Rahillys team that won it in 2006 had an outstanding team and similar to last year with Dingle who also had a brilliant team.

Hugh20, just to let you know. Mark O Sullivan (boysie) has came back to training with the kerins o rahillys senior team the past month or so. He is going well enough considering not playing for years. Played a junior game last week kicked a few points from centre forward and was supposed to have played well.

Ah that's great, I'm delighted to hear that. Around his age group there were some titanic battles with Crokes and Rahilly's, some of the most exciting games I have ever watched. Hopefully he can make an impression and perhaps return to their senior side, he certainly had the potential to do so anyway.

Crokes to beat Stacks by 5/6 points.
Spa v Rahillys - close with Spa edging it.
East Kerry to beat An Ghaeltacht with a nice bit to spare.

Based on league results Crokes, Spa and East Kerry (on results to date - Rahillys beat Gaeltacht and were well beated by E. Kerry in turn). Crokes beat Stacks in the league 1-17 to 1-05 (Stacks home) and Spa beat Rahillys 3-11 to 1-08. Big enough wins for Crokes and Spa to make one think the games were not close and results should follow through - but one never knows so throw in the ball......

Strange that the draw turned out a repeat of two first round games with Crokes meeting Kenmare and Mid Kerry playing St Brendans for the second time in this years Championship. MK beat St B 2.15 to 0.11 and Crokes beat Kenmare D 1.14 to 0.10 first time round.

Hard to see past those 4 but I think the Crokes v Kenmare game will be a lot closer and I think Dingle will give East Kerry enough of it.

Shannon Rangers and Spa. Spa went in at half time up 1-7 to 1-6 and Jason Foley went off at half time for Shannon Rangers. But Shannon Rangers came out with all guns blazing and won the second half 3-7 to 3 points. Full time score Shannon Rangers 4-13 Spa 1-10. Jack Goulding, Darragh Sheehy and Brian O Sheanachain impressed for Shannon Rangers and Evan Cronin and Darragh Moynihan were best on show for Spa.

I was at the Dingle v East Kerry game. East Kerry will be disappointed that they lost the game as they seemed to have more talented players and looked to be headin for the semi's in the last 10 Minutes. Darren Brosnan made Conor Geaney look like a very average player and left scoreless from play Gareth Hickey Brosnan was very good at brining ye ball forward and the East Kerry backs found it hard to disposess him Chris O'Donoghue playing wing back for East Kerry played well getting 2 Points and ye introduction of Brian Friel at half time really gave East Kerry life. Tomas Sheehy had a fine second half scoring a crucial point twords the end. Ronan Buckely fielded mighty ball at times and Mark Ryan played well. Peter McCarthy got black carded and I personally didn't think he deserved it. Lee O'Donoghue played well scored a mighty point and linked up well with David Clifford to score a crucial goal. David and Lee were playing as 2 men in full forward and there was 2 men on each of them at times. Dingle fully deserved there win especially with Mark O'Connor not playing. But East Kerry will be looking back wondering how they left it slip after being 2 points up with 10 minutes left

Crokes had a big win 5-20 to 3-2. Mid Kerry beat Brendans by a point. Dingle Crokes Mid Kerry and Shannon Rangers. You would still have to say Shannon Rangers. But you can't rule out another upset either.

Was at dingle and east Kerry game.East Kerry had enough chances to win the game but carried the ball into the tackle on too many occasions.Darren brosnan did a brilliant job on Conor Geaney but it was not enough as dingle took their chances.

A missed 14 yard free from East Kerry proved crucial.

Shannon Rangers will be expected to win it now i think anyway. I have been delighted with Crokes progress this year. They have trained hard. Well coached. They had a good run in the County league. Got to another semi in the County. Their third in a row. They are strong again next year. Tony Clifford has had a great year in Goals Jack Lenihan David Naughton Mike Potts and Gavin White have been solid all year. Billy Courtney John Kerrisk and Paul Clarke have performed well at midfield. Jack Griffin Mike Casey Adam O'Shea David Shaw and Dylan O'Sullivan have performed well all year.

Shannon Rangers would be strong favourites now that Dingle have taken East Kerry out of the competition. Great result for Dingle and without their big man at midfield. The draw will be important - Rangers are backboned by a Ballydonoghue team that dismantled Dingle in the league and the heroics of the Dingle keeper kept the scoreline from fully reflecting their dominance that evening by all accounts. Crokes have done well to get this far but winning the competition is probably a step too far for them. Mid Kerry could be dark horses but probably not.

Who else do Ballydonoghue have apart from the 2 on the minor panel? I know their senior team is top of div4 but it seems to be a very small place...at least you have to zoom in a long way on google maps to find it!

Ballydonoghue have 8 or 9 very good players. Kieran O'Connell and Mike Foley in the backs are good. Darragh Sheehy Kieran lynch Brian Mason and Jack Foley in the forwards are more good players.
