Round 3B Draw: Tipperary v Tyrone & Galway v Derry, first drawn team has home advantage. Round 4A Draw: Kildare v Loser of Kerry/Cork & Fermanagh v Westmeath, to be played in neutral venues. On a side note, why did Longford concede home advantage v Kildare?! Great ties in these rounds. Tipp v Tyrone in Thurles will be very interesting. It would be nice to see Tipp stepping up to the plate in this one at home but I suspect Tipp are still not at the level Meath are at. Galway and Derry will be close while Fermanagh v Westmeath is almost a 50/50 game, it is a huge opportunity for both counties to make the August window in Croke Park. You would expect Kildare to come up short against the beaten finalists from Munster although one would suspect they would rather face Cork coming off the back of a defeat in Killarney. Much harder to call but I think home advantage will shade it for Tipp and Galway. Fermanagh and MF loser to go through to the q/f stage. What about Croke Park as a "neutral venue"? As long as there's no concerts or American Football planned.

Extremely unlikely that Croke Park would be used as a neutral venue unless there was a triple header (minor at 12, senior at 2 and senior at 4) with a guaranteed crowd of 50,000. Croke Park needs to get 30,000 attendance to break even I think??

Last year the 4a qualifiers were played in Tullamore - Galway v Tipp and Cork v Sligo The 4b qualifiers were played in Croker - Meath v Armagh and Monaghan v Kildare So draw your own conclusions from that!

Any Qualifiers Experts out there?
Are teams that have already played each other kept apart in Quarter Finals? e.g. if Kerry lose to Cork, then beat Kildare, could they be drawn against Cork in the Quarter Finals (Side A)?
Assuming that they are kept apart, then losers of Munster Final have to play Dublin in the Quarters.
However, if Kildare and Westmeath win their final qualifiers, one of them would have to play Dublin, so maybe teams aren't kept apart at Quarter Final stage?

Sorry my original post should have read a guaranteed crowd of 30,000. You would think that a double header with 4 different counties like that should attract a decent crowd. What was the attendance? I think its 30,000 that is the break even cost of running Croke Park for the day.

The 30,000 break even fee is not really an issue any more as far a I can see. Ed Sheeran is playing Croke Park on Fri & Sat 24th & 25th so it's not an option.

I've always heard that provincial finalists cant meet in an all-Ireland final. 2007. for 2015 they have changed the system so that provincial finalists can meet in the final. This wasn't possible for a few years back.... it was possible in 2007

The 2008 U21 All Ireland final between Kerry & Kildare was held there so I'm guessing the venue would be the same this time around no matter which of the 2 are to play Kildare. Sky Sports are scheduled to televise this one.

The AI has been won by the back door route on a few occasions - we even had the year when the four semi-finalists were all from the back door. What is the earliest that a county has gone into the backdoor route and gone on to win the final?
