Since 1992 I have attended 95 percent of Kerrys Championship and League games.I wouldn't even attempt to equate the cost of all that.Nor would I swap it for all the enjoyable it has brought.Looking forward to June 14th already. But I think the availability of inter county players is becoming a serious problem. The events of this weekend have highlighted this.We are in danger of alienating our club player at the same time as creating an elitist out of our county player.Someones got to pull the handbrake.Pulling players more than a month before Championship is wrong.

The clubs are the one nurturing these players and yet it's the club that suffers when these players make the county panel, the League needs to be restructured to ensure the county players are available for their clubs at all times. What's worse is the fringe player's on the county panel dont play at all, how can this be good for anyone???

There is a balance and I thought perhaps this balance had been struck quite well over the last few years? We were light years ahead of other counties on this score.

Seems daft though pulling players from their clubs at this stage. Surely the likes of Tommy Walsh and PG need all the games they can get ?

The dual players on the hurling panel werent allowed play with their clubs yesterday in the county league,
Some of these lads are probably their clubs main players/scorers,like Ballyduff would be missing the Boyles,Paud Costelloe all important players to them and Ardfert were missing John Egan,Darren Dineen,Rory Horgan and Daniel Collins who would be important players in their team.
Whats going to happen in a few weeks for the Football Championship with the Christy Ring Semi Final on the week after?

I can understand with the hurlers - they're in mid-competition. Seems unnecessary with the footballers though.
Will it get to the point where county men cease to be club players altogether ?

Re the hurlers,I think it makes no sense to stop them playing with their clubs three weeks before the Christy Ring Semi Final and then allow them play football a week before the Semi Final.

I agree all games might be pushing it slightly for players in the first 21 but surley the fringe (training panel) players should be available ALL the time.

It is disappointing that county players were not allowed play club league fixtures this weekend - league is strung out over 7-8 months and I thought one of the objectives was to avoid leagues games close to county fixtures. Also how are clubs supposed to prepare for the upcoming county championship if their top players are not training with the club (understandable in its own right) and now not allowed to play league fixtures two weeks before the county championship.

Strong case to be made for fringe players being available to their clubs, same goes for the players in the TW PG JOD category. The clubs will never get 100% access to their county players for all county league games. It would not be feasible.

Only a couple of clubs raised the issue last night at County Board meeting.Obviously there is an acceptance of fate amongst the delegates which doesn't lend to any healthy debate.
