Looking at the Club Championship and clubs in general in Kerry how would you rank them and how do you think the standard in Kerry is right now . I will go from one to ten in Kerry and I would like to hear some opinions and who ye think is the best .
1 . Dr.Crokes ( Not being biased but on their day they are hard to beat . I think they have the best club players in the County ).
2. Austin Stacks ( They are County Champions but the reason they are not number one is they rely too much on Donaghy . You could say that about Crokes too with Cooper but I think Crokes have a better balance and better Forwards).
3. Legion ( A lot of talent and could possibly have 5 on the Kerry panel this year . Jamie O'Sulivan is a good addition to them and they are getting better every year ).
4. Kerins O' Rahilly's ( Have great potential and when they have a full team are tough to beat . Probably need a couple of backs to go to the next level ).
5. Dingle ( The up and comers !! I don't know what's in the water back west but Dingle have some serious young talent coming up . If they can keep them around and they stay injury free they should win a lot of Trophies and will be ranked number 1 down the road ).
6. Rathmore ( This is where it gets tricky . For me Rathmore rank in here because despite being in Division 2 they are a solid team and are too good for that Division . They always produce good players and would give any club in Kerry a close game ) .
7. Milltown/Castlemaine ( Amazing club really because they don't have a very big pick but are just solid and consistently get the results needed to stay in Division one every year ).
8. Kilcummin ( Not as good as other years and took a hit losing Jamie O'Sullivan and others but Kilcummin are still a handful for any team in the County and they have that never say die attitude ).
9. St.Mary's ( I don't understand this team . Can be really good and then the next week can be terrible . If they could get some level of consistency they would be in Division 1 ).
10. Templenoe ( I think they will be in Division 1 in the next 2 years if they keep their players around ) .
So that's my 10 . Of course I left out teams like Desmonds , Mitchels , Spa , Waterville etc but I don't rate them that highly . There is not a lot between the Divisions with most team having the ability to beat each other . Ardfert in Division 3 could beat Finuge in Division 1 . So it is hard to judge it . Let's see some top tens .

As a Legion man I think you are after posing a very interesting question, especially in view of the decision from the Co Board delegates with regard to the relegation of 3 senior clubs this year. In your top 8 you have 3 teams already in the play off with the certainty of another 3 teams to be involved in the plays off's, ( 2 from Rathmore, Crokes and Legion and Dingle or Stacks). Let the fun begin!

Wouldn't have an argument with your first 5 tman but I wouldn't have laune in the top ten at this time, glenbeigh and probably keel are ahead of them in mid kerry alone at the moment, my team's with potential for the near future outside of the big clubs, catleisland Kenmore templenoe Beaufort ballydonoghue and I would pick dingle if they stay around to challenge the big boy's

That's a really interesting ranking premier fair play to you for doing the whole county . Interesting wilth Laune Rangers at 10 but i can't say much about it with my top 10 . Everyone has their own opinion though so that's the Interesting thing .
Draw for the Championship .
1. Shannon Rangers V Dr. Crokes
2. Mid Kerry V Killarney Legion
3.Kilcummin V South Kerry
4.Laune Rangers V West Kerry
5.St Kieran's V Feale Rangers
6.East Kerry V Ardfert
7.Milltown/Castlemaine V Dingle
8.Kerins O'Rahilly's V Rathmore
9. Austin Stacks V St Michael's Foilmore

Because the junior and intermediate club have done better against the senior club in there divisional championship games junior club are division 1 and granted struggling, ranger's 1 point from 3 game's in division 2 and knocked out of senior club first round by a division 3 team, don't think to many laune fan's would have them in the top ten team's at the moment. They haven't won there own divisional championship in years and we're knocked out at home last year by keel the intermediate club

I dont know enough about some clubs to compile a list but surely Ardfert are top 10? They've won 3 All Irelands in recent years!! I dont understand how Templenoe could possibly be ahead of them- what have they won?

Amazing that Glenbeigh are playing Division 1 league yet still playing junior championship. And how have Laune Rangers managed to survive senior club if they are losing to junior and inter clubs a lot of the time in their league and divisional championships.

Funny but also kind of true, Jordan Kiely and Tony Brosnan would be Bally/Filmore's best forwards by a country mile and they have played a lot of B football for Crokes over the last 2 years

If that claim was factual, Crokes would have a second team in the senior championship and in div 1 of the county league. You have probably just reminded people why a particular enjoyment is attained when a certain Killarney smugness gets a kick in the hole from time to time.

Would be pretty hard to do that considering they only have been going for 2 years and cannot partake in the club championship

Crokes are not allowed a second team in either division 1 of the county league or senior championship. In relation to your "Killarney smugness" comment, well Im pretty sure that Crokes are aware that teams raise their game against them.....the saying goes "you are a victim of your own success". Crokes have been successful in Kerry and Munster in the last 5 years and it is obvious that teams are chomping at the bit to get one over them. I'm sorry if I seemed to have offended you KG, my comments were not necessarily aimed as "Crokes are the best...bla bla bla" but merely a mini statement of how poor I believe Bally Foilmore to be. I have no doubt in my mind that they will be relegated from senior this year and it would not surprise me to see them slip down to junior grade in the following year.....If I am wrong you are quite entitled to say "I told you so".......until then shut your mouth!

If people are leaving them out of top 10/12 because of one game, then that's a complete over reaction. And these rankings would surely then change all sorts of ways every round of the county league/championship.

Yer being very harsh on Bally foilmore there still a senior club and division 1 team been there since 2009, alright they haven't made much difference to both competitions just staying up there is prob there goal, only inter team that won and stayed senior for more than 2 years, the forwards they have lost over the years has been there problem, eanna o Connor his brother cian, ronan o connor, Johnny Clifford, David king maybe a couple more not sure, look they could shock the county and stay up, I'm sure when they were going up to Lewis road that Sunday they knew they were in for a long day against Kerry's greatest club team, well apart from laune rangers in 1997 ?

The reason I ranked foilmore so low is because of 3 results mainly , A Hammering from Crokes , A Hammering from rahillys and 2 big loses by legion w/o James o Donoghue and Dingle in foilmore , Legion without James is a very average team!

So all the teams you ranked above them could beat/come close to Rahillys, Corkes and Legion w/o James? Foilmore aren't a top team by any means, but they are good enough to stay in Division 1 and are still a senior club, that all counts for something.

It could probably be worked out based on: current county league position ( e.g Crokes get 58, Tousist get 1) Years since win in divisional championship (minus 1 for each year) Years since win in respective Casteisland Mart championship ( minus 1 for each year, max minus 30) 5 points for player who played in last years senior team Total divisional championships Total CastleIsland Mart championships 3 points for each player who played minor or Junior last year 3 points for each player to play u21 this year
