It's ridiculous, an ulster ref for a game in ulster. How many times have we been on the wrong end of his decisions, Donaghy sent off in the wrong in 06, Canty getting a last minute penalty in 08, Killian's goal being disallowed in 10, the ridiculous number of decisions against us in the 11 final and then last year in his first game since the final reffing us Stephen O Brien was straight through on the Kildare goalkeeper and hauled down Sean Cavanagh style and what happened, play on!!!!!! It's a farce, an absolute farce

It's a refereeing appointment and that is all. I am sure that the players will be fine with the referee and will ensure a positive result as if they allow what has previously transpired to effect their current performance then they are not applying themselves to the game at hand. My nerves will be shredded tomorrow but I would be happier if they follow Daragh's advice and become more expansive in attack. Even through Radio Kerry's commentary last week it was obvious that there was an unease present in the Kerry team. Tomorrow will be tough but I think we have enough to prevail. Just.

This is terrible. I don't have a problem with the ref being from Ulster - we had Rory Hickey against Donegal. I do, however, have a problem with it being this guy cos he's sh*te and bad stuff always happens when he's near us.
It's all well and good to say it's up to us to win the game, that goes without saying. As long as the opposition is just the Tyrone team and not McQuillan as well.

One of the most appropriate quotes I heard in 2014 was attributed to James horan in the immediate aftermath of the battle of Limerick went something like......"complaining about referees is neither good for the mind or soul". Try it lads.

Joe McQuillan has replaced the injured Eddie Kinsella as ref! This poses a few head scratchers. The man who was deemed good enough to referee the final of 2011 wasnt even down to ref a game on the final day of the league season. And I always thought Dublin had first pick of him, not Tyrone.

I can't wait for this game to be over. All of the past AI final clashes revisited yet again, the same outcomes always. McQuillan is no friend of ours but fcuk it we need all our energies channelled into winning the game. The 11 final is over 4 years now, park it up.
A lot of the posts are indicating we are handicapped with McQuillan. Maybe we'll get the 50/50s tomorrow? Why not? Maybe we'll get most of them.Nothing really stays the same, this is a new game on a new day and we have the better team and again I believe we will win.
Mildly related from a psychological perspective I remember playing a town summer league soccer cup semi final many years ago and on reflection wasn't near tough enough mentally. I saw the opposition arrive and I was "jaysis they have player a and b playing". Our left full was a solid fcuker, good player, no respecter of reputation. He turned to me, " would you ever shut the fcuk up". I did. He was completely right, I was wasting time worrying about things I couldn't control and creating a negative atmosphere. We won 1-0.
Kerry have won their last three encounters with Tyrone, one in Healy park. The team will be hopping off the ground to get started tomorrow and won't be worrying about what we're rehashing. Up the kingdom!!!!

Some of us are looking for demons where none exist! Tomorrow is a tough enough prospect without *ing about the referee. Would it not be better to look at our strenghths and where we may well win the game rather than chasing shadows? Trust in our players and Eamonn.

Will there be tickets available on the gate for this game? No probs there at all, when did you last see any game where money was refused. Some say the best place to be is across from the stands, at side where TV broadcasters are, i.e. Birds nest. A great venue if you haven't been and the Tyrone crowd know and love their football, know and love Kerry too but for this hour, there be no room for love in the ring. And if the weather in Letterkenny today was anything to go by, don't forget the shades and you can shed a layer of skins. No ref will chance wronging a home team and Tyrone in Healy Park is as far from an exception as you will get, that's the root of it. Mingle with the Tyrones and you'll get a sweet tune out of 'em.

So will Harte (wishing a Speedy recovery : great man) just disagree with him tactically have them instructed to finally nullify us by revisiting the past ? He has made it plain nits not an entertainment business. His response to Brolly who is like the wind in the changes he suddenly makes - one time embracing Tyrone as the embodiment of everything great - we were bottlers (Gooch on the big occasion) and then suddenly Jim McGuiness was his new messiah
And Kerry fans do respect Harte and the fans generally down the years have great respect - but like all counties they have their morons - the 2003 SF Was soured by about 6 drunk obnoxious fans but then we all know the ole ole brigade that inflicts teams who do well. They join the bandwagon
Some fans in forums are violently anti Kerry though and usually they reside in Ulster They believe we won a litany of soft All Ireland's and if we were in Ulter blah blah blah Hogan Stand forum is a cesspit
All I fear is this - people think now is the nadir of the gaa - and I agree But this was the birth of it - the tactician Harte who advocated a sight so horrible it deserved the label puke football - like I said I finally Tyrone did evolve - had a tough no inch given team of warriors with an abundance of skill. But in decline will we relive the moment Darragh O Se said it was like walking through time square
If you forget here's the nightmare birth of negative blanket defence Stop the opposition at all costs - focus on harassment and swarm and neglect the arts of the game like kick passing etc

trevor73, we had 30 something Sams and they had none. Their method had to be different and it was, but I don't think anyone ever said they weren't penalised if they fouled. If it was the other way around we'd also have won at all costs. They have played some seriously classy football since and they swept the board in Ulster a few years back, everything, including the women. Mickey Harte got it hard at the start, had to train in a car park, etc. Ok, I think Ricey should have been reprimanded for The Gooch incident, bang out of order; just in case anyone thinks I have lost the plot.
We are GAA people first, then our we are of our county, and I am so so proud of all the Tyrone GAA people that I have had the pleasure of meeting and Gaelic football is the better for what they have brought to the game.
Look at how we honoured Mickey Harte that evening in Killarney, and we'll always get the same in Omagh.
Up Kerry!

Safe travelling to anyone making the journey north. Is O'Donoghue close to coming back? I know his dad had a hard time with injuries when he was a player.

Just heading off. Hoping that the lads wear the boots they had on playing against Dublin and Donegal and don't play in their socks like they did against Cork and Mayo. Safe journey to anyone cracked enough to make it.

The time for negativity and complacency is long gone. Heading for Healy Park with flags flying. Looking for a dogged if not great game today and only hope that it will end with Kingdom Come rather than Game of Tyrones!
Safe travel there and back to all.
Up the Kingdom - Ciarrai go deo!

Guard of honour provided by the Tyrone team as Kerry entered the field. Fair play.

Building up for a massive 2nd half in Omagh. Anyone's game now.
With the Dubs 6 points up in Monaghan, it looks like the only result that would get us in to the semis (if we beat Tyrone) would be a draw in Castlebar. Donegal up a point at half time there.
A draw there could also be a bad result for us though, as it would put us down if we lose by a point.

That late free against Moran(non existent) got Tyrone a late chance which they got a point from just cost Kerry a semi final. Joe Mcquilan was dire again today, he has to be stopped from reffing games, it's an embarrassment to the GAA
