IFC draw - Skellig Rangers v Currow DRAW Brosna v Ghaeltacht GHAELTACHT Mitchels v Finuge MITCHELS Spa v Annascaul SPA Waterville v Gneeveguilla WATERVILLE Listowel v Mary's MARYS Glenflesk v Desmond's DESMONDS Keel v Kenmare KENMARE only one rd made - April 19th Skellig and Currow will be a battle of two teams in woeful form, home advantage is a help to Skellig but they are shipping huge scores so I think Currow will sneak it Gaeltacht look a dead cert to me here, lots of inter county players from the last few years underage involved which should see them through Mitchels have surprised me with their form and am going to have to go with them based on Finuge's corresponding poor form Spa look another dead cert here to me even if they lost at the weekend Neither Waterville or Gneevguila are in great form, with their only wins coming in their respective divisional leagues, which Waterville won. Home advantage to swing the result here Mary's and Listowel could be a battle of the free takers of Cox and Sheehan, not many win that battle against Sheehan, Mary's win Desmond's are after making a good start in division 1 but I feel Glenflesk are a bit of a dark horse, have lost their county league games but only by the minimum and are putting up good scores. Hickey to hurt them going the other direction for a Desmond's win Kenmare are in good form and can only see an away win here

Lots of teams in good form here so almost impossible to pick an overall winner. Desmonds, Listowel and Kenmare showing good early form so they would be my picks at the moment.

Eight games which are very hard to call. Skellig and Currow met in the semi final of this two years ago, with Currow edging it. If Comedian/free taker Bernard Casey lines out, I expect him to get Skellig over the line! Brosna are hard to beat at home. Gaeltacht are slowly rebuilding, with some decent minor teams over the last couple of years. Another close game, with Gaeltacht to edge it. Mitchels are in great form, Finuge have championship pedigree. Finuge to muscle their way throughy the next round in another tight encounter. Spa to narrowly advance past a dogged Annascaul side. Waterville's Division 1 experience to see them through to the quarter finals. Emmets have become hard to beat under Noel Kennelly and if they don't concede too many frees within Sheehan's range, they won't lose this one either. Desmonds to progress past Glenflesk. Kenmare to have too much firepower for Keel. It would not surprise me if I got all 8 wrong!! wide open championship, Finuge v Listowel final would whet the appetite up North!!

Bernard Casey doesn't even take the frees for Skellig, whether he is on the field or not Desmonds clear winners for me personally some outfit! Everyone had the same opinion last year but when they meet a team that shuts down Thomas hickey they struggle for scores don't see them winning it

Sweet FA i would say when it comes to a championship game like this, as I'm sure you well know! Waterville would want to put up a much better show than they did at the same venue in the SKC final replay a few months ago to have any chance. Hopefully it will be a better game anyway.

1. Spa V Kenamre - KENMARE (Spa very young and Kenmare going well but could go anyway. TOUGH decision)
2. Desmonds V Skellig Ranger or Currow - DESMONDS (Desmonds have handy draw here)
3. John Mitchel's V An Ghaeltacht - MITCHELS (Tough game but home advantage is key)
4. St Mary's V Waterville - MARYS (Take waterville out of waterville not great)
Best game of the Quarter Finals will be SPA V KENMARE!

What happens those of us who lost in the first round yesterday? Is this one game to save your status happening? Seems severe. Will make Junior and Intermediate even more competitive despite both grades already having a good strike rate in All Ireland series..

Cheers - Interesting tie so. Waterville being decimated by injuries at the moment, more than likey tips the scale in Mary's way
