How many of the current div 1 sides will be in the dog fight to avoid losing senior status.
Does final league placing have any bearing on who is in the hat for that competition. I don't think so but its a bit confusing

wow I can't believe you just said that! Have you ever ventured beyond Lidl on the Castlemaine road! lol Ramble back to Glenbeigh some tevening...count how many players they have on any of their panels. Not even debatable. Strand Road lost 3 county players and Glenbaigh lost 2, which in very basic mathematics means they were more effected by Kerry players not playing. The size of the clubs is neither here nor there and twisting my original point. Don't forget fergal Griffin got a black card early enough so glenbeigh were missing arguably their three best players for most of that game and were 7 points down at one stage

Legion beat Finuge 1-13 to 1-4, understandable considering the hurlers were missing.. CastleIsland beat Rahilly's too leaving them free and clear of relegation even at this early stage.. 7 points would usually keep a team up.. Realistically 3 of Waterville, Bally/Filmore, Glenbeigh and Finuge will go down, Dingle would be the only ones who could get pulled into it

Kerins O Rahilly were very poor tonight, seemed to be clueless in attack and carrying 3 or 4 guys that really arent up to div 1 football. The loss of the 3 Kerry players is really too much of a load for them. You would wonder why are the club throwing so much money into a team that are clearly not going to win anything.... Desmonds were decent and have great pace throughout the side, they took their scores well and showed patience on the ball, lack of quality on the bench could hold them back if they come into any injuries however...

Gary Kissane pulled off a couple of fine saves, Cormac Coffey & Jack Savage were the pick of the rest.

Bally/Filmore seem to be a cert for relegation after today's loss

Rahillys were too strong for an under strength Stacks; playing with the breeze in the first half , Rahilys were well on top at midfield through Con Barrett & Gavan Duffy resulting in a plentiful supply of ball to their forwards who capitalised in full firing over 10 points - Jack Savage was in fine form shooting 5 points, 3 from play; at the back Strand Rd were resolute conceding only 4 points, all from play. On the changeover Strand Rd were first to score but 3 unanswered points from Stacks hinted at a revival; however a brilliant move from defence culminated in David McLoughlin powering a shot to the net for the game's only goal and from there to the finish Rahillys seemed content to play down the clock and matched The Rock Score for score leaving the final score 1-15 to 0-12 in favour of Strand Rd. Best on the night were Danny O'Sullivan, Shane Brosnan, Cian Sayers while up front Jack Savage, John O'Connor, David McLoughlin and Kieran O'Mahony all shone.

Round 8 played this weekend - surprising how close the top v bottom game turned out with Crokes only winning by a point at home. That is a couple of close calls by Crokes but they are still tops. Two top 4 sides to play in their final three rounds - guess they will still be tipped to make the league final. Second place is all to play for. Finuge and Foilmore staring the trapdoor bigtime.

Finuge and Foilmore all but gone, both teams will need to win their last three games to reach a playoff at best which is highly unlikely. It's now between Glenbeigh, Waterville and Kilcummin to see who joins them, it will go to the wire on that one.

You could definetly throw dingle into the mix there, have 2 points less than Glenbeigh.. Usually 9 points would keep you up

St michaels foilmore have officially been relegated after there neighbours beat dingle in Waterville, I'm sure the team knew after a few games this year they be doing well to stay a float, 8 years in division isn't bad for a team that wasn't ever there before, the main reason Bally have gone down is the loss of there forwards over the years eanna cian o Connor, Ronan o Connor Brian galvin David king Johnny Clifford mark griffin as he would of been with the Kerry seniors that's a lot of players for a rural club to play without, I haven't seen division 2 football but that looks a tough place to go all former 1 teams there

With most teams still having two games to play there are 3-4 teams who have a mathematical chance of joining Crokes in the League Final.

Will the county players be playing this weekend? You'd wonder after a tough championship would they want to play county league but club managers might want preparation for next weeks county championship

James O'Donoghue didn't line out for Legion. Jonathan Lyne did play. Waterville drop in to the bottom 3 with only 1 game left to play against Bally/Foilmore. Looks like the Dingle v Glenbeigh game will be crucial with both of them having tough final round fixtures. Kilcummin should beat Finuge to guarantee they stay up.

Glenbeigh the surprise team, couldn't see them staying in the top flight after the poor start they had. It now looks like the club champions Dingle could go down.

Not playing all the final round fixtures on the same day seems a bit unsatisfactory.
Assuming Kilcummin beat Finuge, Waterville need Rahillys to get a result against Dingle if they hope to avoid the drop, and if all the Round 11 games were played at the same time Rahillys would start the match knowing they could make the league final if results went a certain way.
Now more than likely at least 1 of Stacks or Legion will win tomorrow meaning Rahillys will have nothing left to play for.

I thought there was a ruling that all round 11 games in the county league must be played on the same day, the whole league structure needs to be looked at.

So its a play off between ourself Austin Stacks and Legion for the chance to take on the Crokes. For me personally i would love a crack at Crokes as a Stacks man and end the year on high we need this win badly

Finalist': Crokes Legion Relegated: Desmonds Finuge Dingle In Division 1 Waterville, St Michaels Foilmore and Finuge are relegated and will play SFL in Division 2 in 2016. Waterville very suprised to see them go down they have a very good side saw them play our lads stacks this year tidy team!
