Greetings
Kerry beat Leitrim in the New York Final by the score 2-15 to 1-10. Kerry were the very superior team that day, and a goal in the last minute by Leitrim made the score closer than the final tally would indicate.
More to follow...

Kerry beat Leitrim by the score of 3-15 to 1-10 in 2014 New York Final. In a close first half, Kerry were ahead 1-6 to 0-5 but ran out easy winners in the end. A late goal and point by Leitrim made the scoreboard more respectable. Leitrim had several county players and four Kerry players on their side. The Kerry backs were outstanding with O'Connor, Sweeny, and Captain Curran outstanding. They held an all-star Leitrim forward line in check most of the hour. Mike Jim Fitz dominated midfield and got great help from Keohoe. Wherrity played all over the field and was a link between backs and forwards. O'Driscoll was outstanding at full forward and more than held his own with fullback McGuire. When introduced in the closing stages, Dan Cahalenna got a wonderful point to finish out the game. John Fitzpatrick from Ballinskelligs was an impartial referee and kept control of the game for the full hour. The back room team of Ian Galvin, John Reardon, Alan Kurrin, Joan Kiely Henchy and the Evergreen Eugie Sullivan had the team in tip top condition. The usual loyal supporters Eoin Moriarty, Tim Curtan, Jim Mackessy, Tim Brosnan, Noel Shea, and Alan Curran were among the happy supporters after the game. Some of the Kerry Panel included Ger Sullivan, Darmie Foley (Firies), Kieran O'Connor (Emmets), Anthony Sweeney (Listry), John Curran, Capt (Dromid), Mike Jim Fitzgerald (Lispole), Gary O'Driscoll (Skellig) Sean Kelly (St. Pat's), Dodo Hartnett (Beaufort), Dan Cahalane (Templenoe), Ross Wherity (Donegal), Willie Mulhall (Offaly), Seane Fulong (Wicklow), Colm Keohoe, P.J. Banville (Wexford).
Come on 2015 and let's have the double again!!!!
Ciarrai Abu!!!!!
