Watched them train tonight in Rathmore.there was roughly 28-29 training.Shane Ryan is back and took full part in the session so will be interesting to see who will be our keeper.Full back line should look something like Cathal Murphy Gavin Crowley Cormac Coffey Brian O Beaglaio would be knocking around there but he is tied with PCD at the moment.half backs are Conor Jordan Denis Daly and possibly Ronan Murphy or Padraig O Conchuir.Likely story with midfield is Greg Horan and Jack Barry it looks like game comes too soon for Kieran Murphy who I haven't seen or heard from since about this time 12 months ago and is supposedly injured anyone know anything about that? Half forwards could be our strongest part of the team which was our downfall last year you've got the likes of Micheal Burns,Jack Savage,Brian Crowley Matthew Flaherty Liam Carey and Adrian Spillane.Full forward line Dara Roche Cillian Fitzgerald Conor Keane Killian Spillane hopefully this will be the year that we finally get past Cork we definitely have the players. thanks for that interesting post

Looks like a good strong panel and they have obviously played a good number of games already which should stand them in good stead hopefully, any idea of how cork are shaping up I hear they have a few injuries to their top players

I agree with thatkerryman. Throw in the likes of Gary O Sullivan and Barry O Sullivan too at midfield. David Foran in the halfbacks, and Niall Sheehy in the full forward line. There's competition for places in every line of the pitch. I'd expect Shane Ryan to be starting myself, he played that game against the seniors too, great to see him back in action.

Just on Gary O Sullivan there,he started for UCC throughout the Sigerson, and from watching him last night, he's an absolutely colossal size of a man marking Barry O Sullivan and looked about 2 stone heavier and much taller than him.I actually can't quite understand why he wasn't starting more of the Hastings games.2 Gaeltacht men aswell Eanna O Conchuir and Cathal O Luing will be pushing hard for places

Good Competition for places this year . I would love to see them win it but it will be hard just to get out of Munster with Cork and Tipp. Dublin , Kildare , Mayo , Roscommon , Tyrone etc . Some good teams this year .

It's probably our best chance of coming out of munster in a few year's with the panel of player's that are there but as for winning an all Ireland I think Dublin are the team to beat but that's getting ahead of myself

Munster U21FC: Rebels come through Treaty battle 11 March 2015 Holders Cork have maintained their five-in-a-row bid thanks to a thrilling 5-8 to 2-12 victory over lively Limerick at the Gaelic Grounds.
Sean Hayes' side will now host Kerry in a mouth-watering semi-final at Pairc Ui Rinn next Wednesday, but they were given a real test tonight by Declan Brouder’s determined Treaty County combination.
They say that goals win matches and this was certainly evident tonight, particularly at the end of a first half in which Limerick registered more scores than their opponents but trailed … 3-4 to 0-8. Both sides would add 2-4 after the restart.
After early points were traded by Glin’s Kevin Moore (free) and Cathal Vaughan, Darragh Murphy’s fourth-minute goal was just the tonic the holders needed. Limerick replied with a Moore brace, one from a free followed by a point from open play, and the visitors suffered an early setback when Kevin Crowley was black-carded.
However, when Sean O’Donoghue pounced for their second major on ten minutes, the gap went out to four points, 2-1 to 0-3. There were no further scores until Evan Quinlan slotted over the Treaty County’s fourth point in the 16th minute and Chris Smith followed up instantly with their fifth.
It was a one-point match by the 19th minute after Moore grabbed his fourth score of the night, 2-1 to 0-6, and Quinlan supplied the equaliser seven minutes from the break.
Ryan Harkin restored the Rebels’ advantage and Limerick goalkeeper James O’Mara had to be at his best to deny Peter Kelleher a third Cork major before Kevin Davis doubled the difference.
On the stroke of half time, Kelleher did get his goal and that score meant that the Leesiders led by five points at the turnaround.
With Cian Sheehan and Tony McCarthy amongst the scorers, the hosts hit three of the first four points after the restart before Harkin and Jason Mullins (free) swapped overs – 3-6 to 0-12 after 38 minutes.
Incredibly, within seconds, the Treaty County drew level courtesy of a Sheehan goal but back came the Rebels with a Harkin major to lead by three at the three-quarters stage.
Vaughan and Brian O’Driscoll added insurance points for Cork in the 52nd and 54th minutes respectively and, in the 59th minute, Cillian McIntyre slotted the winners’ fifth three-pointer after Kelleher’s initial effort had rebounded off the crossbar.
Limerick refused to give up and Cillan Fahy registered their second major in injury time as they bowed out with heads held high.

Cork U-21 manager Sean Hayes was “disgusted” following his team's lack-lustre display against Limerick last night.
The holders advanced to a last four clash against Kerry next Wednesday courtesy of a 5-8 to 2-12 win but Hayes was far from happy at the final whistle.
“Am I disgusted by the way we played? Yes,” Hayes said to The Examiner. “I am not despairing, though. We are still in it, there is still hope.
“Limerick had nothing to lose. They really put it up to us. Our fellas just weren’t up for the fight despite us coming down saying we were going to get a tough game.
“Our defence was under pressure, but they made some very stupid mistakes. They were uncharacteristic mistakes. I don’t know if the whole attitude was ‘we are going to get through this without trying too hard’.
“I hope it wasn’t.”

If this was at home I'd fancy us but PUR is a different kettle of fish, we rarely win down there in any grade.
And I just don't trust Darragh OShea either

Kerry will play Cork in the EirGrid GAA Football Under 21 Munster Championship Semi-Final on Wednesday March 18th at 7:30pm in Pairc Ui Rinn. Can't see us winning either but if they do they will be serious contenders for later on in the year, Few minors in there now with All Ireland medals so the team doesn't lack confidence. They've been quite good so far this year. We'll see soon enough.

I think we will win will be tough but I think the games in the Hastings cup will stand to them plus with the introduction of last year's minors there are good options off of the bench if changes are needed .

Desperate young team and panel..by my reckoning only 9 of the panel of 24 overage next year.6 of the players who failed to make 24 were on panel of 30 last year, with Padraig O conchuir and Adrian spillane going from starters to not making 24. very surprised Killian and Tom Sullivan didnt make panel.
Very good team named though.Looks like a 2 man FF line, cant see Matthew Flaherty staying in there.

Thats an awful team In my opinion.Cathal Murphy, Greg Horan and Cillian Fitzgerald should all be starting. Barry O Sullivan Cathal O Luing and Matthew Flaherty should not be starting.I just can't follow that team atall I can't relate to it in any way or shape of form.Adrian Spillane and Padraigh O Conchuir were starting last year and don't even make 24 this year.there must be something missing.

Greg Horan can feel very hard done by I think, one of the main players in stacks run to the all ireland semi final and a big lad and a fine footballer aswell.
