Well lads taught we could have a bit of fun here and nominate our all stars for this years county championship its a shame they don't have some sort of recognition to the lads who perform so well in the championship. As for myself i would pick the following
1. Darragh o Shea (Shannon rangers) has been impressive all year and made some outstanding saves yesterday. 2. Fearghal Macnamara (Austin Stacks) is turning into a real leader for this stacks side and if stacks win and kieran retires could be captaining Kerry next year such is his potential. 3. Ger Harnett (Mid Kerry) the rock of the mid kerry foundation 4. Patrick Buckley (Kilcummin) a rare talent blessed with skill and determination struggled with injuries previous years really stood up this year. 5.Ronan Murphy (Mid Kerry) 6. Shaun Keane (Legion) not his natural position but gave a masterclass from here in first round 7.Ambrose Lanigan (Shannon Rangers) 8.Wayne Guthrie (Austin Stacks) a revelation at midfield for the rock this year back to his minor form could be worth a run in Mcgrath cup 9.Thomas Ladden (Mid Kerry) the engine in the mid Kerry midfield 10. Pa Joy (Laune Rangers) had to find a spot for this man was a constant thorn in the side of the opposition all year 11. Conor Keane (Legion) can be a bit of a headcase but gets in for his dismantling on St. Kierans alone 12. Fiachna Mangan (Austin stacks) does so much of the donkey work for this stacks team a lot of which goes unnoticed.the Donnacha walsh of the team 13.Mike Frank Russell (Laune Rangers) really rolled back the years as he always seems to do for championship 14.Gavan O Grady (Mid Kerry) a class act has it all 15. Mikey Boyle (Shannon Rangers) had a quieter game yesterday but flourished all year in the corner
other unlucky to miss out include Peter Crowley, Shane Crowley, Johnny Buckley, William KIrby, Donnacha Walsh, Barry o Sullivan and Mikey Geaney.
Player of the year for me has to go to Wayne Guthrie has been sensational all year and it is great to see him doing well couldn't meet a nicer fella.
Young player of the year would go to Gavan O Grady has really stepped up and made the Kerry management take note

Dont know how you could leave Paul Kennelly, outstanding all year and his performance in the quarter final versus South Kerry was worth the entrance fee alone

No way will Donaghy retire if Stacks win

Are you being genuine here "scart" because, to the best of my knowledge, Patrick Buckley has not played Co.Championship this year. And certainly not in the skillful category.

Scart, i would agree with a few of your selection but i threw my own spin on a few positions.
1. Darragh O’Brien (Austin Stacks) - Been solid all year, topped off with a couple of great saves against Dingle. Darragh o Shea can count himself a bit unlucky here but if he sticks at it he is one for the future.
2. Danny Wren (Shannon Rangers) - This year's Kerry Junior was Shannon Rangers best back throughout the campaign and has found the form that played him onto the Kerry minor panel for 2 years.
3. Aidan O'Mahony (Rathmore) - This year it has just been too hard to leave him out of any team. Although not in the position he played for Rathmore, he gets the nod for his exibition in tobbling the mighty Crokes in the first round.
4. Fergal Griffen (Mid Kerry) - This man doesn't age. Feel's like Griffen has been marshalling the Mid Kerry defence for decades and he is still well able to take on any forward who comes his way.
5. Mikey Geaney (Dingle) - Mikey's Senior experience really stood to him throughout the championship and his experience was clear to see helping out the younger dingle players. Played out of position but done it for the team, and was the lynchpin of every attack from the back. Covered acres of the pitch in the Legion match helping Patrick O'Connor keep Jameso to just one point from play.
6. Peter Crowley (Laune Rangers) - Peter's class and experience was a huge factor in how Laune Rangers propelled so far in this years championship, its evident from the county league they struggle without the county star.
7. Marc O'Connor (Dingle) - Although this is not his prefered position, his battle with AFL star Lucey in the Quarter final will be remembered, he didn't allow Lucey one single clean catch and topped off his day with a well taken goal. One of the main reasons Dingle toppled the Legion.
8.Wayne Guthrie (Austin Stacks) - Hearing from the grape vine this man has really put his shoulder the the Stacks wheel and you can see the dividends. Has been outstanding throughout the championship, allowing Star to be closer to goal and a big threat inside.
9.Colin McGuillicudy (Mid Kerry) - It could have been any of the 2 Mid Kerry midfielders to take the number 9 spot but i decided with the Glenbeigh man, his clean catching is a real spectacle.
10. Ian Galvin (South kerry) - He one and only good thing to shine from the south this year. A pity he is battling it out in the depths of division 5 football week in week out. Doesnt get to show his true talents too often.
11. Shane Carroll (Austin Stacks) - This man keeps stacks ticking over as far as im concerned. His array of kick passing and free taking along with his abilty to break the tackle has seen him being a massive player for the stacks this year. His frees could be the difference when the final whistl goes in 2 weeks.
12. Darren O Sullivan (Mid Kerry) - Has a lot to prove after a dissapointing All-Ireland series but what better way than to guide your team to a county championship?. O'Sullivan has steamrolled all in front of him in this years champ.
13. Paul Keneally (Shannon Rangers) - As someone mentioned earlier his performance against south Kerry alone was worth his inclusion. Mikey Boyle can feel hard done by but 2 Shannon rangers forwards would not fit into an 'All-Star's' team.
14. Kieran Donaghy (Austin Stacks) - With their midfield on song, it allows to keep star closer to the goal where he will cause havoc to any defence. with 40 yards of space last weekend he really thought young Marc O'Connor a lesson (Dingle mgmt left him out to dry). Will this man be Kerry Captain next year?
15. Conor Keane (Legion) - His 7 points against the crokes, 2 classy taken goals against Dingle and his all round performance against St.Kierans has this man destined for great things. class act and very unlucky not to have his name on the headlines last weekend.
My unlucky to miss out include: Darragh O'Shea, Mikey Boyle, Matthew Flaherty, Donnacha 'Visit Me' Walsh, Ronan Murphy, Jamie O'Sullivan (Kilcummin) and Shane McSweeney (Laune Rangers)

Fantastic idea for a thread, I doubt if there will ever be unanimity on this one! Darragh O’Shea (Shannon Rangers) Fearghal Mac Namara (Austin Stacks) Eoin Brosnan (Dr. Crokes) Pa Kilkenny (Mid Kerry) Fergal Griffin (Mid Kerry) Aidan O’Mahony (Rathmore) David Culhane (Shannon Rangers) Shane Carroll (Austin Stacks) Aidan Breen (St. Kierans) Shane McSweeney (Laune Rangers) Shane O’Callaghan (Austin Stacks) Jason Hickson (West Kerry) Conor Cox (Feale Rangers) Paul Kennelly (Shannon Rangers) Conor Keane (Killarney Legion) Leaving out a lot of great footballers - James O'Donoghue and Padraig O'Connor of Legion, Fiachna Mangan, Wayne Guthrie, Kieran Donaghy and Darragh O'Brien of Stacks, Johnny Buckley with Crokes, Thomas Ladden and Gavan O'Grady of Mid Kerry, Mike Stam and DJ O'Connor for East Kerry,Jamie O'Sullivan for Kilcummin, Shane Enright with Shannon Rangers, Maurice Hickey with St. Kierans, Paul Geaney for Dingle, Micheal Quirke and BJ Keane with Rahillys (I thought Sean Walsh showed great potential against Feale Rangers).....I didn't see South Kerry at any stage but you can be sure that they had real contenders.... One thing this all makes me think is that, despite all the criticism - most certainly deserved after two terrible semi-finals that were also very badly organised - the County Championship is not at all as bad as it is often portrayed. I saw a lot of good football played in Kerry as well as by Kerry this year.

Himself - Surley Eoin brosnan on the loosing side for 2 out of 3 games couldnt make a team of the year? - The Legion forwards wiped the floor with the Crokes boys that day. Likewise Conor Cox - did the man even feature in this years championship? - Wasn't he one of the '3 Muskateer's' that jumped off the 'sinking ship' to America for the summer months?

Cox was outstanding for Feale Rangers in their game vs Rahillys, scoring 8/9 points in all and without him they would not have won.

Darragh O'Shea had a fine year in Goal . A very promising Keeper . Pa Kilkenny , David Culhane , Fergal McNamara , and Marcus Mangan are backs that will all get games for Kerry . Wayne Guthrie was the best Midfielder in the Championship . He could get a look . Shane Carroll , Shane O'Callaghan , Conor Keane , Paul Kennelly , Conor Cox , and Gavin O'Grady are Forwards that should get a look .
