I ordered the dvd on Thursday and twas delivered today. For €17.49 including postage you get over 5 hours of 2014 football...mainly of Kerry. Its fantastic. Just watched the extra time in Limerick... jesus what a final ten minutes by Kerry, The best I have seen in many a long day. Special mention must go to the forgotten man in many ways Mark Griffin. He was simply brilliant when the battle was at its greatest. A man for the trenches and a huge player in the coming years I think.

I was particularly shocked by the revelation that 'Cork is the same distance from Dublin as Dublin is from Cork'. Must be that new fangled project maths or somethin'

I don't believe that bit about Cork being the same distance from Dublin as Dublin is from Cork. We should have a committeeeee to look into such weighty matters before rash statements like that are made.

I promised myself the same thing. Lasted about 2 days I was never a great believer in "delayed gratification" I dunno, recap on lots of things you yearned for and then enjoyed. When doing this I often find myself wishing to go back to the time, days before the "good thing" happened. This is always in retrospect and always when the "good thing" turned out to be great. But maybe the "wait" is really half the actual joy and excitement. Looking forward to something is a great mood enhancer. I've watched the DVD twice already

Kerry have revealed the price of success, with almost €1m spent on preparing the county's senior footballers on their run to All-Ireland glory earlier this year.
However, the Kingdom will paint a healthy financial picture at Monday night's County Convention meeting as they boast a surplus of €131,000 before development fundraising schemes are included.
That profit was reported despite the a sharp increase in the cost of training the senior football team, which hit €972,613 as opposed to €755,489 in 2013 when the Kingdom reached the All-Ireland semi-final stage.
Replays in both the county senior hurling and football finals helped boost coffers, though a new ticketing system for games has also aided the jump from the 2013 figure of €301,099 to €434,891 this term.
Another area of success for the board was the windfall from the various fundraising initiatives that were undertaken to offset the cost of the All-Ireland minor and senior football successes.
That figure increased from €158,651 in 2013 to €520, 678 in 2014, including €300,000 raised for the county team holiday fund.
One other small but significant boost to income was in the area of Kerry branded sports gear, which increased from €13,000 in 2013 to €33,000 in 2014. This was as a direct result of Kerry County Board designing a new logo and thus reaping the rewards of controlling the sales of their own merchandise.
Elsewhere, it wasn't all good news for Kerry as it was revealed that key defender Aidan O'Mahony will be sidelined for three months due to ankle surgery.
The Rathmore man, who was superb this summer, will sit out the McGrath Cup as well as the opening three rounds of the League due to the injury as he recovers from an operation on his troublesome ankle that flared up while on club duty.

Croke Park will not only host the final of the 2023 Rugby World Cup but both semi-finals as well, if Ireland wins the selection battle.
The vast GAA headquarters in Dublin with its 82,300 seats is the only stadium on the island that could accommodate the three most important games of the tournament.
The Irish Government and Northern Ireland Executive have united to back the audacious bid by the Irish Rugby Football Union (IRFU) to host the tournament in nine years time.
The GAA has agreed to make the Dublin stadium available for the top three games in 2023 as well as making a number of its other leading sports grounds available for tournament games, the Sunday Times reports.
A figure of €10m has been mentioned as a direct payment to the GAA for allowing the use of various stadiums. The GAA has made tens of millions of euro from hiring out Croke Park for non-GAA events, although it lost out financially when the planned Garth Brooks concerts being cancelled this year.
The IRFU has expressed confidence that it can successfully win agreement from the International Rugby Board to host the tournament and the backing of the GAA has been crucial for its bid.
Endorsements
The IRFU's €127m bid to host the event has been strengthened by the strong endorsements from the authorities on both parts of the island. "Ireland will put together a winning bid that will be impossible to resist," Taoiseach Enda Kenny said
The North's First Minister Peter Robinson has spoken of the Executive's strong determination to bring the tournament to Ireland and the Kingspan stadium headquarters of Ulster rugby was undergoing a £14.7m revamp.
Casement Park GAA stadium in West Belfast has been earmarked as a venue, but local residents are opposing its expansion. And an Irish Football Association spokesman stated it would be willing to make Windsor Park soccer stadium available, if requested.

With Brosna beating Glin yesterday; does that mean Kerry have won Munster in every club and county competition they have entered this year bar the Kerry U-21's?

I think it is 70 million down the toilet. Could have been put to much better use imo. There will be no big quarter finals or semis played there except for a replay involving cork and dublin. No county will want to travel all the way down to cork, croke park is as good and neutral a venue as there is.

There are already too many big capacity stadiums in Munster. Somewhere like Thurles would be a much better regional venue.

In an interview in today's Examiner, Enda McNulty said that his Armagh team, while winning only one All-Ireland, were good enough to have won nine!. He felt they were superior to both Kerry and Tyrone.
Is there anything more pitiful than an apparently clever man arguing with facts?

I read that this morning Veteran and couldn't believe it myself. What struck me was that kerry's tally of championships( for that particular era) was more than both of the other 2 teams mentioned in the article. Anyway, the injustice of it all has made him the man he is so, in the finish up, it all worked out well for him......and for Kerry!

Typical nordie revisionism, they were very lucky to beat Kerry in 2002, we lost it on the line and our shooting in the second half was erratic to say the least, re: 2006, a game lasts for 70 plus minutes and Armagh were given a dose of their own medicine and they did not like it one bit. 9 all-Irelands he's having a laugh, I think he is a more successful psychologist than he was as a player and he should know better after all in his profession he should know what a DELUSION is.

Kerry & Tyrone - 8 AIs. Armagh -1 AI. Yep, clearly the superior side.
Should have won more alright, to be fair. Should have but didn't.

Its nuts to suggest that a county like Armagh could emerge from the woodwork and win 9 All-Irelands over the life time of a generation of players, which would have to have been on the spin. Just think about that for a minute. Galway haven't won 9 in 150 years. One for Roy of Rovers and Sunday park fantasy stuff.

The 9 All-Irelands is crazy talk.Their loss to Fermanagh in 04 was a huge shock.
Definitely could have won 2/3 if they emerged in a weaker era.

I honestly believe that sports psychologists have no role to play with good teams. With teams that have problems they can blur reality and send them out there to do their best. McNulty thinks he can now blur the past. Armagh - 9 titles - its not his fault - he is in the business of blurring reality.

Kerry boss Eamonn Fitzmaurice has indicated that Tommy Walsh could make his return to the green and gold jersey early next month.
According to the All-Ireland winning manager, Walsh is likely to line out in the McGrath Cup clash against IT Tralee, which is set to be played at John Mitchels grounds on the second weekend of January.
Walsh played 15 times for Kerry between 2007-09, scoring 4-23, before heading to Australia in 2009 when signing for St Kilda's before moving to the Sydney Swans, where injury blighted his AFL days. Now 26, he resumes his Kerry career, and his return in the wake of Declan O'Sullivan's retirement could not be timelier.
Marc O Se is set to continue as he bids to eclipse brother Tomas' record of 88 SFC appearances, while Aidan O'Mahony will also stay on, though his comeback will be delayed until March as he recovers from ankle surgery.
