Not a team but a panel! Eoin O'Brien, Billy Courtney; Darren Brosnan, Jack Morgan, Gavin White, Tom Leo O'Sullivan, Dan O'Brien, Mitch Foley, Jason Foley, John Mark Foley; Mark O'Connor, Brian O'Seanachain, Brian Sweeney; conor Geaney, Cormac Linnane, Stephen O'Sullivan, Karl Mullins, Michael O'Donnell- these are the guys I have heard about, some Christian names may be incorrect.

The centre back from last year was Andrew Barry from Na Gaeil, I'm not sure if he will be fit for the game or not. Jack Morgan and Jason Foley both started against Clare last year, Stephen O'Sullivan was first sub on

That is a big turn around in personnel in just one season. Very much a new slate so for JOC and his management team.

Strange team would not have predicted some of those lads making it but fair play to them i'm sure they are there on merit . The back look solid . O'Brien from Glenflesk , Gavin White and Darren Brosnan are all good solid backs . Jason Foley was there last year so i expected him to be close to it . Surprised Aidan O'Connor from Dingle didn't make the panel had a good year also a little surprised to see Foley from Kilgarvan in Midfield . Billy Courtney in goals is another surprise . I expected Evan Cronin to start . Don't know much about Linnane in Full Forward . Jack knows best so can't wait to see how they do .

24 clubs represented by the 33 players is a serious spread of clubs in the squad.

Very surprised to see no Jack Daly,David Roche. And Evan Cronin and Jack Morgan not to start.Anyone know about Brian Sweeney at centre forward? Sean O Shea at wing forward is a serious operator saw him play County league a while back he must have kicked 1-9 or 1-10 with about 3 frees. He features regularly for Kenmare seniors aswell.

A namesake played about 20 years ago both football and hurling.

Imagine the effect on under 10's and 12's in all these clubs - they can aspire. God be with the days when we used look at the minors and based on the selection have a competition amongst ourselves to guess what clubs of the selectors came from - 5 from here, 5 from there etc. That is the real reason we went years without winning.

Are the other 14 over age? Ages of panel would be useful. Three from Ballydonoghue with two Foleys looks good, first batch since '47 that we had more than one on the county panel.

Rather surprised not to see the likes of David Roche Aidan O Connor DJ Murphy David Naughten Lee O Donnoghue Jack Daly Pat Spillane Dean Fitzgerald Diarmuid Keating involved. It's interesting how things can change. Even Billy Courtney in goal is a major suprise nobody could have predicted that happening!

I think the diversity may be helped by the development panel system - most of these lads have invested (and been developed) over the last three years playing with the North and South development panels. Six of the starting 15 are under 17 - this could be interpreted two ways - great U17 squad or a defecit in the U18's. I think only 3 of the starting 15 in 2014 were u17. Looking at the starting u17's I think they are generally worth there places so would be positive about it. Billy Courtney in goals is the major surprise as he would have been marked down as a mid-fielder or forward. Best of Luck on Wednesday and hopefully a long summer of minor football.

On the goalkeeper Jack probably looked at Shane Ryan last year and thought the ability of Billy Courtney to kick the ball around 70m from the ground and his ability in the air makes him the best option there. It is a surprise decision though as most people would have earmarked him for midfield (where he will probably be next year). Good luck to them all on Wednesday.

Bit unusual that players from division 4 clubs from whole panel (8), amount to that of the same as Division 1

Bit unusual that players from division 4 clubs from whole panel (8), amount to that of the same as Division 1 Not that unusual - I think it was the 2010 minor team that did not have a single player playing in division 1 of the county minor league. Logic would suggest that playing at a higher level would be more beneficial but obviously not. Probable reason is that good players do not tend to move club like in other sports and will normally play with their local club irrespective of the division they play in.
