The Minor match is often played to a quarter full stadium with very little atmosphere. It was great to see so many in early for the Semi Finals. I'm sure the Minors would appreciate if there was a decent crowd in to welcome them onto the pitch on the biggest day of their fooballing lives to date. I appreciate so many of ye are travelling great distances but I'll throw it out there anyway.

The thing is with the minor and senior double you would imagine/hope that the atmosphere in the minor would be much better than usual
You can understand there being a poor/quiet atmosphere when you have 2 teams in the minor final who aren't involved in the senior and each side has only a couple of thousand supporters in the stadium but with the double minor/senior situation I'd say that the atmosphere for the minor should be a cracker. Also you'd think that the atmosphere around the city/outside Croker would be quieter than normal as a result with more folk making to be sure to be in the stadium for throw-in as opposed to lingering over pints.
I think they could help folk out by reducing the gap between the minor and the senior games. Minor throw-in is 1:15 and senior throw-in isn't until 3:30 - That's pretty much a full hour of a gap between the end of the minor and the start of the senior - could easily cut that short, when you have a serious chunk of folk travelling from Donegal and Kerry on the day.

I would go in at 7and watch them cut the grass and line the pitch if I could - just love the buzz of the day and think it a pity so many leave it till just before senior throw inn to take their seats. A great day - a great occasion.

I will be brave enough to admit I love the craic in the pub before the match and may not make of the minor kick off but I will watch it in the TV.

The very minute the gates open I'll be there... Donegal will have a massive support for the minors and our lads deserve the same respect as the seniors...
Ciarrai until I die!

Agree with onlykerry, I love being in Croke Park early when there's hardly a soul around. Stewards have a 10.15 call time this week so I've plenty of time to soak up the atmosphere. It was always a custom with my Dad that we'd be in and settled for the Minor so I can never understand people who wander in in the middle of the parade or worse still the anthem. We'd never have a drink in there either, it was purely football, a pint or two in the local on the way home, win or lose. I'm wishing the days away and after seeing the team I feel more confident that we can do it.

I should be there, having managed to source a resident's visitor parking pass I plan to park up inside the cordon early on and mooch around the hotel, browse in Elverys and spot the various GAA personalities as they arrive. It's like nothing else and I want to enjoy it all. In to 307 for the minors, get the heart pumping and warm up the lungs, enjoy the vantage point and appreciate the season ticket in full. You get to see how the pitch is playing, what way the breeze is and I enjoy watching our minors and wondering who will be the next graduates onto the senior team.
It's all part of the buildup to the senior game and once you take your seat all logistical issues re tickets and travel ebb away and it is purely football. We hope and wait all year to get there and thanks to the warriors in Limerick , here we are. The minor game is a joyful bonus treat
