I feel that both teams playing on 26th dec will invoke the 2 week rule brought in a few years back. So Beale will have to wait until the 9th . Which is a Friday. So that weekend is most likely. The board might have to find their rule book. If they have one.!!! With regards the 2 week rule, has that not been changed to a 4 day break now? So therefore the game should go ahead on the 3rd once a replay between emmets and senans is avoided. I'm not fully sure of this but I think I remember this topic being raised before during a conversation on the high stool!!!

Certainly agree that there could be an upset on St.Stephens Day in Moyvane. From what I hear Listowel preparations has been poor, mainly due to a lack of interest in the camp. I believe many were seen in locality of Jumbos in the early hours of the morning which certainly wont help there cause on Friday afternoon. This is very disappointing but then you would have to question the North Kerry Board once again that this is not wrapped up by now & if not postponed until early in the new year! Its the one time of year when friends & family are home and to ask club players in a divisional championship to sacrifice the Xmas Festivities is a bit much I feel. Obviously for Senens and Beale they will hold this competition in much higher regard than the Listowel side for obvious reasons, therefore I would not be surprised to see both battle out the final at the expense of Listowel. I'd like to see the Half-Way men go all the way but history hasn't been kind to them down through the years; thus they are one of a handful of clubs in North Kerry who have yet to get their hands on the Holy Grail. I can see them matching the townies in heart and skill for most of the game, but something will happen during the course of the game that will put the kibosh on them - either an error or an injury to a key player or something 'quare' like that. Emmets will probably win by a point or goal and the hard luck story will continue. Teams like St. Senan's, Mayo and in past times Clare, have some hex on them and it's very hard to toss that monkey off the back. Clare hurlers did it and once they did, it liberated them to go on and achieve more and more. You'd think a team that's named after a saint (St. Senan - a Clareman) would have the Gods with them, but no. Anyway, where there's a will, there's a way and hopefully this crop of Senan's players can go on to beat Listowel and Beale.

Was voted on over ten years ago. I'm sure someone in Bally will know for sure. Maybe whoever wins will want to keep run going and play a few days ASAP. I'm only hearing from the high stools too and that doesn't happen often enough these days. Anyone in the know???

Senans will be kicking themselves after blowing a glorious chance to beat listowel...they were 1-3 to 2pts up @ h/t. Listowel had sean mccarthy sent off after 20 mins, straight red for a punch and had a player black carded too..... Listowel then had whelan sent off for striking with the head after 5 minutes of 2nd half...... Senans then had midfielder Brown black carded. With 15 minutes left all hell broke loose. Ger mccarthy hit shane nolan off the ball, nolan responded in kind and some more and both got straight reds..a few more lucky not to go 2...listowel drew level thanks to 4 conor cox points in 2nd half....senans couldnt score into wind even tho they had 2 spare men............ replay jan 3rd in ballybunion

I'm not veteran so this is just my summary. This game had it all bar plenty scores. Few and far between but most of good quality. Well worked goal and some super points by Listowel ( cox really). Amazingly game finished 12 players to Listowel 3 straight red and 14 to Senans 1 straight red. Half time score was 1-3 to 0-2. The game was actually fairly tame bar crazy individual stunts by some who deserved to walk. 3 Andy lee wannabes and a head butt (without much malice) by a usually smart fella. Also a few black cards . At least 1 each. Only person I will name is Brendan guiney who unfortunately had to go off before halftime after accidental clash of heads with his own teammate. Hope it's nothing too serious. As for the football. It was Senans to lose once they went 1-02 to 0-1 up early. Then a red card for Emmett's. Senans were out of blocks quicker. The wise heads of Listowel never panicked. Anyway in short senans blew this one with 2 men up for most of second half they panicked and it took until last ten mins before they figured out how to use there advantage. It actually looked as if Listowel had more players. By this stage they were level and after last 2 reds they had a few shots on front goal to seal it but a curling breeze denied them. When's the reply? Who will be elligable (red cards) . Wiill tourists be gone back and thus fellas who are around 12 months of the year will be given privilege of playing!!!!

Did you watch all the game vicmac??? Cause I know for a fact the sh** Nolan was doing to McCarthy off the ball the whole game was nothing but thuggery... The Emmets bench on a number of occasions told north Kerry board officials what was going on, but we're ignored. Mccarthy stands up for himself once and got nothing short of assaulted... That is down to north Kerry board not protecting players. It was horrific to watch. On top of that nolans brother kicked him into the head twice, while he was on ground wounded. Well done North Kerry board!

yes anygivensunday nolan was blocking mccarthy from making runs up the pitch but i didnt see anything too bad going on like punches or use of the head.....it was hard to see who was doing what in the scrap that followed the nolan mccarthy incident but i saw a head butt + a stamp but couldnt see who did it....surprised the linesman on stand side or umpires missed it.... it would have evened up the numbers a bit....listowel will feel they wont be beaten now fancy them in the replay.....

Very strange game today in Ballybunion, which was marred by the worst refereeing display that I have ever witnessed at a game of football, yes the players who saw red or Black today deserved their sentence , but from the start the Ballyduff ref lost control of this game and it could have turned very nasty in the end, he continually turned a blind eye to off the ball incidents , and seemed to give a lot of decisions to the Senans Senans will rue not putting the sword in Emmets when they had the chance, but credit Listowel they had the strength and experience in depth to replace 3 red cards and a black and end up commanding this game with 12 men . Advantage Emmets for replay on Sat 3rd @2pm same venue but thankfully not the same disgraceful ref. NKB at it again today €10 enter acne fee for a semi

That's the thing, they were alerted to what was going on a couple of times but they did little else to protect players. If I'm not mistaken your not allowed man handle another player to stop there runs.. Either way listowel will be very depleted in the replay. 3 reds and 2 injuries, hopefully the two lads make speedy recovery although I hear Heaphy is not well after the sliding tackle by a Senans player which took him and another Emmets player out of it, again Ref waved play on. We could talk all night, but all in all today was a disgrace by the North Kerry boards Referees and linesmen.

he did play in 2nd half. Got some important ball around middle with his brother. Begs the Qs. What in gods name was senans goalie kicking ball to Somers midfielder ( double marked) and senans having a world of free players to aim at.

Any mouthing & the ball was brought fwd on both sides in 1st ten mins. Also no one saw anything too dirty off the ball that : oh except head butt for 2nd red and I've heard umpires saw Nolan receive head but which is why 3rd red was given. Not saying he wasn't blocking and all that but come on river feale but this is NK and Emmett's are kings Of trickery. Mikey Kennelly at it on far side with linesman all day. It was a battle and to say thuggery was involved shows what a person u are. Wait until Beale play in final. Will it be soft like u want( not saying Listowel will be in it). If it's a NK medal by a wide u want then sur they sell medals in most sports shops!!!!!!

with the winning line in sight senans froze, with a 2 man advantage and to deploy both extra men in the backs was very naive with no man available for the short kickout.Listowel with belief and tradition drove on in the second half and could have won it.Senans with abit more experience would have closed out todays match, but with listowel not as focused as other years and with s o connell to come in for senans for replay ,senans to make a third final in the clubs history

North Kerry Board need to have a serious look at themselves after last Friday, player welfare was ignored prior to the game and what was allowed develop from the minute the ball was thrown in was a disgrace! While it may look like the Listowel side brought the thuggery to the game with the amount of red cards issued, this was certainly not the case as from the very first minute the current holders were against 15 well drilled footballers from Senens who each knew exactly what was required to get a reaction, two linesmen who could not keep up with the play and turned a blind eye to to any decision which may affect Senens chances, the referee had no control and I would love to see how many times he blew Listowel for over carrying the ball on numerous occasions which stopped there momentum going forward. Overall from the very first minute Listowel were not going to win this game, a joint effort from the North Kerry Board & Officials! On to the replay it must be advantage to Senens, Listowel missing 4-5, 3 Suspensions McCarthys & Whelan and injuries to Guiney (concussion) & Heaphy (knee) from what I'm hearing! While its advantage Senens, they reminded me of Mayo last Friday & while the replay will again be close surely if Listowel even get half the decisions that went against them last Friday it could prove to be all the difference!

nk board changed the venue at 11.30 on st stephens morning...can you imagine the phone call "Sorry Lads can ye get the pitch ready in 2.5 hours for a game, yes I know yesterday was christmas day"...........2 years ago they call off the senior final and moved minor final to a different venue cos listowel was unplayable on st stephens morning.....this yr they play extra time in some first round games and dont play extra time in others....they call off a game for a stag party which throwns rest of the competition back weeks.....they are now saying the final will be jan 10th while the 2 teams in the semi final are saying they wont play the final on jan 10th....!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with you Jackeen 85 there seemed to be a conspiracy against Listowel from the start but what would you expect from this corrupt NK board &officals From what I hear Emmets will be missing a lot more players than 4/5, 3 reds for Ger & Sean Mc Carthy and Whelan, Guiney and Heaphy, Jamie Barry also out because of 3rd Black card offence, Brian Mc Guire and Mike Stack also out along with Tadhg Kennelly who is going back to Austrailia on Friday, that makes 9 players from the last day will Emmets even be able to field a team next Saturday, heard they are trying to push the game out a week to help with injuries . Would be very surprised if the NKB accommodated Listowel as every body knows that the don't want to see the Townies win this competition Emmets may be. Struggling to field a team but I believe even with a 2nd or 3rd string team that they will prevail to go on to not only win the semi but also defeat Beale in the final following their fantastic fight back against all the odds to draw the last day they will take inspiration from the evergreen Noël Kennelly who again proved what a warHORSE he is by driving on his team mates on Stephens Day throw in Cox in the mix and they will be hard to beat

From what I hear the semi final is goin ahead on the 3rd. I hear St. Senans wanted to put the game back to the 10th but listowel want the game to go ahead on the 3rd I don't know what their reasoning behind it is since they could have a few injuries and playing the game on the 10th would have gave them time to heal. Looking forward to a very tough and exciting game again.
