Brosna fully deserved of there win against Tarbert..Tarbert Wudnt have completed a pass if there lives depended on it last Sunday nothing went right for them!! The pitch in Brosna looked to be in excellent condition considering the amount of rain that fell the night before and during the game. Tarbert just cudnt complete that final pass..1pt in the 1st half with the breeze says it all.. Ait didn't help that there big midfielder donal leahy only came home from his honeymoon late Saturday night and Ambrose Lanigan played with torn Ligaments in his ankle he did nothing but limp around the field prob making things worse for himself!! Danny wren stood out for Tarbert in the backs while Aaron cahill was excellent at corner back and the ever dependable eamon kiely at centre back was outstanding! Brosna much more lively up front. Could go a long way this year!

Teams have home advantage in the second round aswell as far as I know. Bronsa will fancy their chances of going all the way this year.

Home advantage was awarded to first named teams out of the hat in this years championchip draw because of a motion submitted by the Brosna club at last years agm and passed by all clubs. Brosna submitted the motion hoping to get the first ever NKC game played in Brosna. It only stands for first rind games only !!

Alot of credit due to the clubs for the facilities in fairness.
Is the double header Listowel v Finuge/Ballydonoghue v Castleisland the only games on next week?

They were first out , they had home venue and nobody including the NKB could change that only themselves so don't send digs at the Bord or me when you obviously don't know the facts !

Interesting games coming up at the weekend Beale should be too good for neighbours Asdee Senans v Ballylongford is hard to call but with home advantage in a wet and windswept Mountcoal St Senans should win Sundays double header in Listowel Emmets v Finuge. Emmets were terrible yesterday in last county lge game v Rathmore ( both teams relegated to Div 2) they will need to improve by 80% to have any chance against Finuge to retain their title , they will be without Conor Cox ( injured) Brendan Guiney ( suspended) Brian Mc Guire & Denis Walsh Finuge to prevail after their hurling exploits with Lixnaw even without Paul Galvin Castleisland v Ballydonoughue. Desmond's will be too strong for a young upcoming BallyD team, Desmond's also promoted to Division 1 yesterday will be eager to go one better than last years final defeat Brosna will be waiting for them in the long grass

Senans for me yes against ballylongford that is one for sure i think will be a winner! Emmets v Funuge is the tie of the weekend feel this could be a draw very easily and would be interesting! Castleisland v Ballydonoghue will be close game i feel i saw a glimpse of there game versus Renard it was some championship feel to that game and it was only County League so twill be good prep for them for Castleisland i feel this could be close but Castleisland may shade it

Kerry arent exactly stocked with experienced intercounty defenders for next year, especially it Marc and Aidan retire.

Will Tadhg Kennelly join up with Listowel panel? will Brosna's involvement in the junior championship delay the N.K championship?

Listowel with cox would struggle for scores against a very stingy finuge defence without him they won't have the firepower, the problem for finuge is they don't shoot the lights out themselves. Senans played a level below ballylongford but are at home, very evenly matched teams draw? Doesn't matter how good asdee played against crokes b, beale are a better team playing at home, easy win. As far as I know desmonds where supposed to be at home against Ballydonoghue 2 weeks ago, presume they wanted the game moved and forfeited home advantage, so they are either very confident of a win or don't care about nkc and based on what happened last year wouldn't blame them...

I think this weekend the North Kerry Championship really kicks into life, two nice encounters on Saturday, where you would be expecting a Senens & Beale victory with 3-4 points the spare. I would be suprised otherwise!! Onto Sunday and there is no doubt the most attractive fixture in North Kerry, Listowel & Finuge will go to battle lunch time Sunday, pro's and con's for a victory for both sides, it should be a cracker and hopefully will bring a large crowd. Finuge will realish the trip to Listowel, added with the incentive that Listowel are the current holders, this is the kind of victory that the older members of the Finuge would dream of, "beat listowel in listowel in the 1st round"!! Expect Finuge at full strenght, Galvin & co! Wouldnt expect Listowel to die easily but fancy Finuge to emerge by the minimum! Desmonds & Ballydonoghue will end the weekend, expecting nothing but a Desmonds win, but then again who knows, anything is possible with Desmonds, however word is they are training and you couldnt see past them if that is the case!!

I noticed Conor Cox was selected at midfield for the game against Rathmore this weekend,Madness! No wonder Listowel were struggling for scores, Noel Kennelly is still togging out for Listowel aswell some going for a lad of about 45!
