Umpires were shocking yesterday. The first 2 Hawkeye decisions should've been spotted in real time. None of the penalties should've been given as both fouls occurred outside the large square. Kilkenny were up 4 or 5 points with 7 minutes to go ... sounds very familiar to us anyway! if tipp had only got frees instead of penaltys they would have tapped over 2 more points. easy to see why kk had alot to say about barry kelly appiontment as ref. fast eddie didnt spare him last nite on sunday game.. have tipp lost their chance?. alot of kk older backs looked leaden footed, tipp were flying at the end while kk defenders couldnt hardly puck the ball. amazing how walter walsh was left on for so long, forgarty wasnt much better when he came on. will both fennellys be as bad again?.

Last time Kerry won the football AI, Kk won the hurling and there was a Tommy Walsh on both teams. This year there's a Paul Murphy on both teams. BTW, regarding cheaper tickets for AI replays, where do we get the refunds for 2000??? I've just sent off my Stamped Addressed envelope requesting a refund for that but I wouldn't be expecting a reply anytime soon. I was surprised that KK didn't close out the game last Sunday. Can't see Cody allowing them to make the same mistake again.

replay on sat at 5, seems to be dwarfed in the media by the ryder cup golf. which team will have learned more from drawn game?. tipp were yards fitter and will remain so, but weak in full back line. on the head to head match ups tipp came out on top in most. will so many kk players be so bad again?. will king henry start?, dont think so but the 2 walsh brothers might. walter walsh was terrible in drawn game i expect young kelly to start, very mobile player. only thing tipp can improve on is goal taking. gain alot of confidence with display and fighback but must curtail richie hogan. who will win?. tipp

If Tipp can score the more goals or the same number of goals as KK I think they will win. If KK score one goal more than Tipp I think Tipp can still do it.
If KK score two goals more than Tipp then KK will win it.
Stopping KK scoring goals must be Tipps priority so maybe they will take a leaf out of Eamonn Fitzmaurices book.
Tipps performance the last day was near enough perfection. KK have more scope for improvement but is it in them?

Immediately after the drawn game I fancied Tipp for the final. However, when I heard Brian Gavin would be in charge I began to fear for Tipp. Brian is a very fair referee but he tends to be very tolerant of various approaches to tackling. The more lawless a game is the more it suits Kilkenny. Apart from being superb craftsmen they are as unforgiving as granite.

Kilkenny hurling manager Brian Cody has been cleared of any formal misconduct following his criticism of Westmeath referee Barry Kelly, who took charge of the drawn All-Ireland hurling final against Tipperary last month. Cody has, however, been warned about his future conduct.
The GAA’s Central Competitions Control Committee (CCCC) brought a charge against Cody after he described Kelly’s decision to award a last-minute free to Tipperary in the drawn game as “criminal”. Cody then attended a Central Hearing Committee (CHC) meeting in Croke Park on Thursday night, to explain his case, and according to a statement from Croke Park, the CHC found his comment “did not constitute misconduct considered to have discredited the association.”
In the statement, the CHC said it “considered comments attributed to Brian Cody in the national media did not constitute misconduct considered to have discredited the association. However, Brian Cody was warned as to his future conduct in media interviews”.
Cody made his controversial comment the day after Kilkenny beat Tipperary in the All-Ireland final replay, saying Kelly’s decision to award the late free in the drawn game - which Tipperary missed - was “criminal”.
“They were handed an opportunity which was a completely wrong decision,” said Cody. “We didn’t speak about it the last day but it was criminal. People can say that I am whingeing and moaning all they like, but I am telling the truth.”

Kingdom's application to play in Leinster MHC rejected 06 November 2014
Kerry’s minor hurlers won’t be playing in Leinster next year.
Last night’s Leinster Council meeting rejected the Kingdom’s application to play in the preliminary section of the Leinster MHC and to join the Leinster MHL, which already includes Antrim and Down.
The Kerry minors were hammered by Cork (5-26 to 0-9) and Clare (6-25 to 0-11) in this year’s Munster MHC, and it was felt that they would have a more realistic chance of winning against the likes of Carlow, Meath, Kildare and Westmeath. The Kingdom have defeated Meath in the last two All Ireland MHC B deciders.
Leinster also turned down Galway’s proposal to join their minor and U21 hurling championships.
Didnt know they were even planning this. Stupid idea really i think. Whats would the point be in entering it when your hope is to beat the likes of Meath etc teams who we're already beating? Playing in the Leinster league wouldn't be a bad idea as it would mean a lot of games before the Munster championship.
Like iv said before hurling isnt going to go anywhere in the county if the underage teams are going to be playing in the B championship all the time. Played in Munster last year and were well beaten yes, but a team will learn a lot more by playing at that level then they will by winning the B All Ireland year in year out. I seen they've pulled out again for next year, again how are things going to improve if they enter one year and pull out the next? There should be a commitment to play for, say, 3 years and see where things are after that. They should be still playing in the B championship during this time but should look to being doing more then that.
The players who would be making up the minor teams are now playing at a good level in schools hurling with 4 Kerry teams playing, granted 3 of them are playing at D level, but its still better then them not playing at all.

The GAA's clampdown on what they deem derogatory comments on social media has continued with a proposed 24-week ban imposed on a Donegal club player.
It follows a proposed 48-week ban for a Derry club player, Aaron Devlin, earlier this month for comments he is alleged to have made on Twitter about officials in the county final that his club Ballinderry lost in controversial circumstances to Slaughtneil.
Devlin was one of three Ballinderry players suspended for 48 weeks for various incidents that surrounded that final and it is understood that the club are immersed in an appeal process against some of the penalties imposed on them.
The ban now imposed on David White, a dual player with the Sean MacCumhaills club in Ballybofey, has once again raised the increasing vigilance that officials are maintaining of social media comments.
White made critical comments on twitter about fixture-makers in Donegal last month concerning the requirement of a replay instead of extra-time for a quarter-final match between Ardara and Naomh Conaill. He was responding to a tweet posted on the official Donegal account. White is understood to have posted a similar message on Facebook.
Many observers aware of the content of the tweet are surprised at what is felt is a very excessive proposed penalty for such a comment handed down by the Donegal Competition Controls Committee (CCC).
GAA members can be charged under rules that governs bringing the game into disrepute.
Last August Donegal issued a warning to its members that they could face disciplinary action over comments made on social media. White is expected to appeal the suspension and it will be interesting if either case goes as far as a Disputes Resolution Authority (DRA) to test the validity of these suspensions.

JJ retires. 9 All Ireland medals. Michael Duignan says he is the best defender he has ever seen. Had just kinda assumed he was going to stay on for a tilt at 10 Kilkenny will surely have the "transition" tag with all the players retired this year - will be interesting to see how they cope with it.
