A very young Glenflesk team! Were always under pressure in defense! Lee o Donoghue excellent from placed balls had a wonderful goal chance early on that would have put Glenflesk up 1 but tapped it over instead, a massive chance! Glenflesk wiped out at Midfield and were too dependant on Jeff O donoghue at times! Dara Roche had a quite day at the office! Young Shane Courtney had a good battle in the 1st half with Greg Hickey! Shane Cronin and Liam Kearney quite impressive! Liam excellent with frees also! Spa introduced Evan Cronin and was the changing of the game! First touch resulted with the ball in the back of the net following a good burst of pace to get past his man and finished very well! Evan Cronin finishing the game with 2-1! All in all Spa comfortable winners over an average Glenflesk side! Gaaaddiction , That spa team is quite a young team too , maybe one for the future. I think there was 5 minors on the field for spa at one time.

Those 5 minors would be Liam Kearney Shane Cronin Dan O Donoghue Evan Cronin and Ciaran Spillane! You have to bring into account also that Spa beat this Glenflesk team by 12 points without Michael 'Stam' O Donoghue and Niall O Mahony! If you included them into the team that would be a very very impressive side

Good win for Ardfert yesterday, had to work hard in the second half after controlling the first half and score some nice points and also got the important goal by Shane Griffin after some good play by John Egan, they are a tough team to beat and the final against Spa should be interesting,Ardfert will probably be underdogs going into the final but as we have seen in the past 10 years they dont mind that and love upsetting the odds,Damien Wallace will be a big loss to them though as he got a straight red card in the last few minutes of the game.
Desmonds were disappointing on the day and hit some very bad wides, they tried to work the ball into Tomas Hickey too many times and became too predictable,Ardfert were getting numbers back behind the ball and maybe the Desmonds lads would have been better off having a shot for a point out the field,Tomas Hickey was their only threat and Ardfert had to double mark him at times.

Spa gaa social media page posted this to there page , there goals from the weekend! some great worked goals Awful defending though! I think Damien Wallace had kicked 7 points before getting the red card at the death so his loss should mean that Spa prevail. I don't think Ardfert will concede goals like that though

Will Stam and O'Mahoney be back for Spa? Most of the time with an intermediate team, if their big guns are missing it can be a serious blow, but doesn't look to have affected Spa all that much.
Given Kerry teams' history and with those two involved plus their young guns the Spa lads wouldnt be the worst bet for the club All-Ireland.

Well the rumours are saying that both wont play anymore football this year, I totally agree with you about the young ones , they seem to be a new pacey team and could be a serious team for future, I think this team could get far if they get past Ardfert. They are also without cian tobin who was a kerry minor a few years back he went back to america i think. Mickmac, i know glenflesk defending was poor but spas movement and play off the shoulder was nice to watch the last day , they usually play everything through michael stam o donoghue , But there pace and movement was exceptional and i think they will be to quick and smart for ardfert who like to bring the pace of the game down to their level of handpassing. I know ardfert and have seen them play alot this year, Damien wallace will be a huge loss , hes a great player.

Fitzgearld Stadium should suit the Spa lads better with their youth and pace, but its hard to know with Ardfert they are well capable of shutting teams down and playing the game at their pace,if it becomes a dour physical battle then Ardfert will win it,Spa just have to try and keep things open and not get dragged into a dog fight.

I would fancy Spa to win due to the venue but Ardfert are like an annoying blue bottle that wont leave the room when you're trying to sleep- you just can't kill them, they always hang in there. Not a team that I enjoy watching but in fairness they put it up to nearly everyone that they play so its hard to completely write them off

I'll try to summarise Wheesies commentary in 5 lines;
Spa the better team in the first half and led by 7 pts to 4 pts at half time and Spa spurned a few goal chances.
Ardfert the better team in the second half and upped their game and intensity.
It finished 9 pts each at the end of the hour.
Ardfert the better team in extra time and a late goal saw them win by a goal and two ponts.
John Egan played with Ireland in shinty yesterday in Scotland and got back in time for this.... a massive result for Ardfert.

Well done to ardfert , tough as ever.
The commentary on radio Kerry was shocking. At some stages I didn't know whether it was a goal, a point, a 45 , a wide or which side was attacking - they should just inform people of what's happening on the pitch & forget about the aunts, uncles & cousins in china. & there's no doubt about it........... suffering je....us !!!

Ardfert 1-12 Spa 0-10 (after extra time)
Kerry IFC final: Underdogs Ardfert came from behind to force an extra-time victory over favourites Spa in a thrilling Castleisland Co-Op Mart IFC final at Fitzgerald Stadium Killarney.
It was a game that Spa dominated in the opening half, thanks to the midfield prowess of Kerry junior star Andrew Garnett and Kerry minor captain Liam Kearney but their inability to take four gilt-edged goal opportunities cost them dearly.
Spa jumped 0-4 to 0-2 clear after 15 minutes thanks to frees from Kearney and Garnett and two fine points from Kerry minor defender Dan O’Donoghue and corner-forward Craig Hickey while Ardfert were kept in the game by two frees from David Griffin and John Dowling. Kearney continued to hurt Ardfert as they led 0-6 to 0-4 after 25 minutes but Ryan Carroll and Mike Finnegan had missed two great goal chances at that stage. Again before half-time, Ardfert keeper Nicky O’Sullivan denied Mike Finnegan with a stunning save and though Garnett converted the resultant ’45, Spa’s 0-7 to 0-4 half-time lead looked tenuous. Ardfert took over in the second half with John Egan converting a free and man of the match David Griffin adding a point, Spa were in trouble
It was tight and tense in the remaining 20 minutes with Mike Moloney equalising for Ardfert in the 50th minute and with no further score the game finished level.
In extra time, Spa lost their way up front while the Horgan’s Fionan and Rory along with Daniel Collins were heroic for Ardfert. Ardfert finished the stronger and the winning goal fittingly came when Shane Griffin set up David Griffin to find the net.
Scorers for Ardfert:D Griffin 1-3 (0-2 frees), J Egan 0-4 frees, S Griffin 0-2, J Dowling 0-2 (frees), M Moloney 0-1
Scorers for Spa: L Kearney 0-5 (0-4 frees), A Garnett 0-2 ’45’s, D O Donoghue, C Hickey and M O Donoghue 0-1 each:
SPA: J Devane, H O Donoghue, A Cahill, M Finnegan, D O Donoghue, S Lynch, E Cronin, A Garnett, L Kearney, B Russell, R Carroll, S Cronin, C Cronin, P Cronin, C Hickey
Subs: M O Donoghue for P Cronin ( 37), E Cronin for S Cronin ( 46), J Spillane for C Hickey ( 58), N O Mahony for R O Carroll( 58), S Cronin for S Lynch (e/t), C Hickey for C Cronin ( e/t)
ARDFERT: N O’Sullivan, F Horgan, R Horgan, N Clifford, D Collins , S Leen, M Moloney, J Dowling, T Wallace, K Shanahan, J Egan, D Griffin, M Ferris , S Griffin, Darran Wallace
Subs: B Barrett for D Wallace (45), J Wallace for T Wallace (50), T Wallace for M Ferris (e/t), Darran Wallace for S Griffin (B/C e/t)
Referee: P O Sullivan (Dromid Pearses)

As I said from the start either finuge or ardfert will win this competition while the rest of ye backed everyone but the two!! This twice spa have been turned over by a north kerry team it doesn't look lik the Killarney boys like the tough physical stuff that the north kerry boys bring to the table

I see Ardferts game against Wolfe Tones of Clare is fixed for next Sunday in Kilmoyley Ardfert will be hard beaten at this time of the year. Was impressed how they choked up the Castleisland attack in the semi final, didn't see the final. They will need to get the heads right before Sunday however as Clare club football is apparently stronger than that in Kerry

Don't know much about Wolfe Tones but Ardfert on home soil would be a tough prospect for any team.
We rode our luck a bit on Sunday in the first half and only for some heroics from Nicky O'Sullivan in goals Spa would have been out the gate at the break. Damian Wallace will be missing again on Sunday. He was a huge loss against the Spa and will be sorely missed again.
But this team knows how to battle and dig out results, so I wouldn't bet against it!

Cookstown won there two all Irelands against kerry teams as well Kerry clubs have won three titles ardfert responsible for the first one so they have the experience and the resilience. Will be tough to beat

Open to correction on that, but he is missing afaik.
