Reports down south say that it is leixlip that the lads are going playing for. Eanna had afew sessions with the Kildare seniors, hopefully he'll get a chnace in the o'byrne cup or league. awful loss to Bally/Foilmore. however with Ronan O'Connor back on board the blow is somewhat softened. But will be without Mark Griffin and 1 or 2 potential minors their resolve will be tested this year, they have also lost their 2013 managment team

Word down south is that the 2 of them could be joining the Kildare setup once the transfers have gone through. A fit Cian Connor would be a very good asset at the edge of the square. His akwardness and his very solid pair of hands, very confortable of both feet also.
I feel Eanna will be sprung into the team straight away.

Heard today that it's Moorefield, not Leixlip, that they are transferring to. If that's the case it will make Moorefield even more formidable this coming championship.

Would be surprised if Cian was able to make it at intercounty level, but Kildare would have nothing to lose by giving him a chance.
Eanna is a serious talent though, the kind of classy scoring forward they've always craved. They'd be mad not to get him involved straight away if he's available.

I doubt there is anymore to this story than two young men looking to make a living and life for themselves outside of isolated south kerry, if indeed they do decide to transfer. Historically south Kerry has bleed its young people, there is nothing new in this going back over a 100 years or more. As very valued members of the south Kerry footballing fabric, hopefully they will find a way to continue to play with their Kerry club for another while, if possible.
Cian will know he is a club player and a very good one at that, Eanna is an exceptional club player and borderline county panalist. If he has designs on county football he should give every ounce of his blood and effort to making the Kerry setup before he might considers looking elsewhere.
Lets keep this in perspective. The best of luck to the lads as they move out into the world. This just brings home the lack of opportunities in extreme rural Ireland. From a footballing perspective purely, they have as much to gain with their local home club. However life isn't black and white.

the best of luck to the 2 boys in Kildare.I,m sorry though that eanna didn,t stick anound longer to give himself a fighting chance to make the senior panal.I think of the great effort jacko shea gave to his club and it was more difficult to travel then than now.4hrs from Kildare to bally and I also think that Kerry football has been good to the oconnor family

Not a bad first year for the lads with Moorefield. Both regulars in the team, and helping themselves to county championship medals today after a 1-14 to 1-6 win in the final replay with Sarsfields. Lucky enough to come out of it with a draw last week, but sounds like it was a convincing win today. Report on the game here... thescore.thejournal.ie/moorefield-kildare-champions-replay-1748030-Oct2014/

Both O connor lads were poor today. Eanna taken off. It was very much a case of men v boys today. Moorefield imposed themselves physically from the start and never let up. Sarsfields are young and will eventually make the breakthrough . lots of talent coming through.

You wish every Kerryman and his family well, wherever, whenever. Ballythefireside quote for the day- "Life is but a game, on and off the field of play. A game The Kerryman wins, playing The Kerry way.
The further he travels, he gets better by the day. Meitheal with less gifteds, to save their crop hay.
And let all that be fine, until the month of May. Then for mutiny on the bounty, the ultimate price will be paid.
Then it gets a bit serious, when eggs they start to lay. Days outside Kerry be wasted, will the monster we created win, nay"Ah sure it only rhymes, reasons?, only jokin, we're in the pub, you lot know I wouldn't write stuff like that!!

I did hear Eanna was called into trials for a challenge game for Kildare against Meath recently enough. Dont know if he played in it (with his club in the county final might not have played even if he was interested in joining up with Kildare).
Did hear he was one of the top players in the Kildare club championship and was looking like a lad worthy of being involved with the county team.
The challenge was for looking at lads who might be called into both county teams next year.
If he does end up being involved with Kildare in any way expect the Jack to Kildare rumour mill to start up again.

Eanna didn't play in that challenge same as the rest of the contingent who were involved in the final that were called up. He had a terrific championship for Moorefield but was unusually quiet in both the drawn match and again today. Cian O'Neill has been heavily involved in Moorefield's preparation over the last few weeks and has been on the line for them since the semi final. I believe the O'Connors joined Moorefield upon his recommendation. They are teaching in Kilcullen as far as I know.

Eanna O connor has agreed to join up with the Kildare panel. He will do so at a later stage, presumably when/if Moorefield's club journey ends.

You're doing him a disservice Premier! He kicked 7 points today. They face Rhode in Tullamore in the semi final. Repeat of the 2006 Leinster Final.
