Whatever happened to Gale Rangers? I don't hear of them anymore. We used to play them regularly a few years ago and they were always competitive but i haven't heard of them in a while now.

They were never a divisional side as such henry.. more one that was thrown together in the fall of the year if feale rangers were too strong for lads who had ambitions of game time.

This is just my version.
Gale Rangers were a Junior team based in Listowel. They had their own pitch which was located out the Ballybunion Road at the turn off for Dirha Bog. They no longer used it after the early 90’s. They were competitive during the late 70s and early 80's. I can't say for certain how much they won but I know that they got to a few North Kerry Intermediate Finals. The last Final they played in was the 1998 North Kerry Junior Final where they were defeated by Clounmacon. The main man who kept Gale Rangers going was Pat Foran. He deserves great credit for all the great work he did keeping the show on the road. Before they wound up a few years ago they played in Knockanure and Asdee.
Clounmacon is a Junior Club also based in Listowel parish. They have their own pitch in Clounmacon which is 4 miles out the Tarbert Road – turn left after Lyons’ funeral home. The pitch was officially opened in May 1992 by Kerry Gaa Chairman Seán Kelly. Kerry played Dublin. There was a massive crowd there. Clounmacon’s finest hour came in 1954 when they won the North Kerry Senior Championship. They defeated Tarbert in the Final and the heroes of that hour have been immortalised in song and poetry many of which are still sung today in the Public Houses of Listowel. Joe Shanahan was the captain. In recent times they have won numerous North Kerry Junior and Intermediate Championships. They fielded juvenile teams in the mid 90’s but they always struggled with numbers.
Knockanure is a small village in Moyvane parish. They have a Junior team. One could play Minor with Moyvane and Junior football with Knockanure. Patrick Curtain played for Knockanure. In 2008 he had been out injured so he lined out for Knockanure against Listowel ‘C’ in the North Kerry Novice Final. He played a mighty game but ended up on the defeated side. They have their own pitch and dressing rooms just a mile from Knockanure village.
