For me it is ease of mind, that's all. I hope to make all league games as I usually do, but once the championship starts my busy season starts as well and I have found it hard to attend certain championship games. I couldn't afford giving op on a week's work, for a 70 minute game. The tourist season is short and if I would miss out on a week's work I would find it harder to survive the winter.
The real cost of travelling to league games is the time it takes, the transport, accommodation and food and drink. Going to a league costs a bit more than just €10, just like going to a championship game has its own set of logistics.
The only reason I renewed the season ticket again is because it saves me from having to worry about buying tickets for league games, though they are rarely sold out, and championship games. It is quite handy to just work away and not having to worry about logging on or racing to a nearby supervalu at a certain time to get tickets for the bigger games. I often don't get to go to the championship games and would often give the tickets away. Or give them to someone at face value.
Without the season ticket it would also be much harder to get a final ticket, but unfortunately we haven't had that problem for a very long time.

Less than 3000 people at the yesterdays game in Cork. Cork being a city and Killarney a big town 50 miles apart. These games seem to be completely parochial and don't attract public interest. The GAA needs the county game and fair weather supporters.

The GAA needs the county game and fair weather supporters. Without the profile and excitement of inter-county, clubs would find it much harder to compete against soccer and rugby for young players.

Anyone having any issues with attendance being updated for the Mayo game? We have two and only one has had the attendance updated.

Thanks Seoirse. Its very strange, we have two tickets both were scanned one after the other. One updated the other didn't. In the grand scheme of things it won't make a difference as I plan on going to the majority of the games anyway. Very annoying though to pay for the tickets and the same crap as other seasons. I have emailed them but doubt they will do anything.

Not yet Seoirse. Received this reply to my email on Monday today. I'm not too hopefully but will battle away.
Good Morning,
Thank you for your email.
It can take a number of days for our system to update completely as the data would be forwarded from the venue to ourselves in the GAA Ticket office. There was a large number of Season Ticket holders over the weekend at numerous venues.
I appreciate your patience while this happens. If it is not updated by Friday, please contact us.
Kind regards
Triona

The quality of season ticket seating for Saturday week seem to be good with section 405 around the middle of the pitch.

Great seats Saturday night and attendance updated that night. Terrific seats. We were right over the centre spot in 406. Killarney is still the only ground in the country where season ticket holders are given crap seats

I'd say the ground will empty out significantly after the Kildare Monaghan game so if you don't get a good seat with your own ticket, there should be a few available as people leave.

I haven't received an email from the Season Ticket office yet regarding Clones. I've heard all seating is unallocated so presumably they will debit our cards and we just present our season tickets for admission. Am I correct?

Yes, just bring your card on Sunday for scanning.

Thanks. I didn't receive an email but when I checked my account online to print tickets they show as "Card / Badge". Just as well I didn't decide to opt out .... even though I was minded to in the immediate aftermath of Sunday!

I have been deliberating whether I should renew my season ticket for 2019.
While on the GAA.ie website, I came across the following:
Please note that as per Point No. 59 in the GAA Season Ticket Terms & Conditions, the significantly increased ticket demand for the All Ireland Finals means that the seats allocated to qualifying Season Ticket holders for the finals will not be located in the same section as seats allocated for prior championship games at Croke Park.
Disappointing move by the Gaa. Particularly as the reason does not make sense to me.
