How does it represent good value? The original aim was all about rewarding the loyal fan. Now it rewards the loyal fan and those willing to pay an extra 100 euro €99 is good value for 8 matches (under €13 per match). Friends from other codes all agree that this is unbelievably good value. That's not even taking into account that it also covers the League Finals and Semis, The Club finals and any other NFL fixture we might feel inclined to attend. For the Championship it gives the peace of mind that we get a ticket to matches that could be sold out such as the Munster Final, a decent seat in Croke Park and a guaranteed ticket if we get to the final. That's not just good value it's priceless! The issue of the problem of introducing a two tier system is different from this and as you can see from my post I happen to agree with you on that. If you get one of these €99 euro tickets, do you have to pay for entrance to all championship matches.... the Munster semi final, the Munster final and the three games in the All Ireland series

You also can opt out for one of the matches if you can't attend without being charged.

Its only good value if you attend the majority of the games, which is the idea of the season ticket in the first place. I dont think I have missed any championship match since its inception that I can think of. If you dont go and have to pay anyway it ceases to be good value. The opt out match is a good innovation should someone make holiday arrangements without consulting you.

Applications for new Season Tickets open next week. Looks like there have been more renewals than usual so it's advisable to get in early if you want one. Apparently Dublin and Mayo (football) already closed to new customers.

County board getting €146 euros out of every club add on/season ticket sold. All-Ireland tickets will not be in the same sections as semi final and preceding games. Win win for the county boards. Financial income and poor quality tickets to take edge off the rubbish given out in their 5 year scheme. It was a great scheme one time before this neutering......................................... All good things come to an end.

If you're going to the match tomorrow be sure to print off the tickets online. I'm still waiting for the usual email and was beginning to panic when I checked the website and there they were, I don't think they will let you in with just the ST card

a couple of questions for season ticket holders. 1. are season ticket holders guaranteed good quality tickets (i.e. out of the rain) for croke park? 2. does the club pass cover all the games (both codes, county and district competitions) in Kerry?
would be grateful for some answers.

Can someone tell me what the story will be with the Season ticket for the doubele header with the hurlers and footballers in a few weeks? It will surely cover both games won't it?

A Chara,
It has been noted at multiple venues over the opening weekends of the Allianz Leagues that Season Ticket Holders are transferring or attempting to transfer Season Ticket cards for non-attending season ticket holders to members of the public at match day venues.
Please Note the following line which is printed in bold on the back of all Season Ticker cards:
"TRANSFERRING OF THIS GAA SEASON TICKET AT MATCH DAY VENUES IS STRICTLY PROHIBTED"
As stated in the Terms and Conditions of the GAA Season Ticket:
"It is the duty of the recorded GAA Season Ticket Holder (i.e. the person named on the GAA Season Ticket) to ensure that no improper use is made of the GAA Season Ticket or any tickets received on foot of the GAA Season Ticket."
County Boards are aware of this and as a result ANY detected abuse of the GAA Season Ticket in such a manner will lead to confiscation of cards on the day and cancellation of that season ticket.

This is nothing but small-minded bureaucracy at work. It will be almost impossible to police and in doing so will generate enormous resentment from innocent and guilty alike. What should it matter to the GAA whose bum is on the seat as long as it is filled? So far the scheme was a beacon of enlightenment but now the pettifogging killjoys have taken over. Wait until the legal eagles get their teeth into this one: If transferring on the grounds is prohibited, is it OK if the transfer takes place elsewhere? And what exactly constitutes "improper use"? Are they going to confiscate someone's ticket if they give the loan of it for one match only because they are indisposed and don't want it to go to waste. The extent of this mean-spiritedness is staggering.

This is to counteract single multiple ticket holders who cash in on All-Ireland final day. This also contributes to the quality of final day tickets being pushed out to the margins. I don't have an issue with this stance from Croke Park. The scheme was exceptional in during it's earlier years of inception but will now deteriorate over the coming years with the club add on element. Back to basics as it where, it is all about money. Control going back to the county boards to the detriment of the die hard on the road type of supporter in the All-Ireland Final Day tickets stakes game.

It's surprising they don't have a photo ID on the ticket.

The extent of this mean-spiritedness is staggering. I would imagine their gripe is that if I land up with a fist full of cards and give them out to fellas who would otherwise have paid in, then I am depriving them of revenue. Last year in Paitc Ui Rinn I overheard stewards discussing taking cards off anyone who presented more than one card for scanning. I would think that scenario wouldnt end well. They have no right to seize your property. I previously had a friends card with me cos he couldnt travel. Rather than giving it to someone else I just went back out and came in through the gate again with the other lads card.

I'd be shocked if the terms and conditions don't state somewhere that the card remains the property of the GAA. This is standard for most membership cards so it means that it wouldn't actually be your property. I'd imagine this is a shot across the bows against any large scale organised abuse blatantly obvious abuses of the scheme especially for the All-Ireland as opposed to the casual supporter passing the card on to a friend for a game he can't make.
