Hi folks,
Am looking for some information on Mick Ashe who played for Kerry in the late 1950s early 1960s. The Irish Press newspaper of the day describes him as a 'Dingle born Tralee reared'. He actually lined out for Offaly in the 1958-59 League and it is this that I am really interested in.
Can anyone be of assistance?

Played right half back in the Munster semi-final versus Tipperary in Killarney on July 5, 1959.
That was his only appearance in a game for Kerry...not sure if he stayed on the panel for long after that.
Played his club football with Austin Stacks.

Thanks Ball hopper. I am writing a book at the moment with a colleague on the Offaly 1960-61 team that played Down in the All Ireland and would like to know more about Ashe. Is he still living in the area does anyone know??
All help on this matter would be greatly appreciated and would merit thanks in the book!!
Incidently the only game Offaly lost in 1961, aside from the All Ireland to Down, was a May Bank Holiday challange match against Kerry in Killarney!

I don't know if you are still interested but I thought I could help. Mick was a garda in Offaly and played for Daingean club. He is still alive and living there. I'm not sure what town. If you need more info I can help, we are related. I don't know if you can email from here I don't want to give private info on a public forum
