driveon, you try not to slate players??? name calling like that to any player is a disgrace. paul galvin has his negative points, like goin in hard on tackles, confronting players in an in your face way etc but i think its a little out of order to call anyone who has been serving his county for so long in both codes " a pup and a troublemaker of the highest order". galvin has won almost every award there is to be won and i think he deserves a bit of respect for that. he didnt win all those things out of thuggery and i think its about time someone in the kerry camp stood up for him against the harsh criticism from not only the media but the "kerry supporters". driveon, your obviously from a neighbouring town or village, either that or u ate his dust marking him in a previous match!! I have no bother wit hard tackling or standing up to fella's... its the mouthing to ref's, throwing water bottle, kicking the ball away last Sunday just as cork player went to pick it up after a free was awarded, which meant an non scorable free was moved into a scorabile position…(and thats only at intercountry level,we wont get into his incounters with refs at club level!!) that’s what I’m on about and its things like that that could change a game.

you're obviously a ref so!! no, i just think its very unfair to name call in such a disrespectful manner to a man that has, in all fairness, given an awful lot of time and dedication to the cause. we should be sticking up for our own instead of bad mouthing them, they get enough of that from other counties.

Dermot Be nice. Paul is a fellow North Kerryman,he is also a player on the KERRY TEAM and as I would with any man who puts on his County Jersey back him up.. Alright he can be a hot head but I just feel that he is getting abuse from his own instead of sticking up for him we start a silly thread about him. Why cant we focus on the positive and look at what he brings to the game.

Ps I totally agree with ready. Stick up for your own. For all the people who have a problem with Galvin right now name one player who could take his place. Any takers? ??

I have to laugh lads - Last year in the AI final when a Tyrone player kicked the ball away most (not all I stress) of you came down hard on us and said it was pure puke and a total lack of class etc, etc... When Galvin does it its somehow cheeky & funny ! Just thought I'd remind ye of that Brilliant ! p.s. please remember this for next year - I should archive these somewhere for future ammo ! Dermot Funnily enough, when Kerry are are being cynical they seem to do it with a touch of class. Dont you agree?

I'd say the posts on this thread are on the whole very positive towards Paul Galvin and almost without exception they highlight how invaluable a role he plays and has played in the team over the last few years. No one is looking for him to be replaced and everyone wants him to play well. All that is being said is that for someone who makes such an enormous contribution to the Kerry team and has the ability to be such an influential player in big games, he should learn to draw the line at some of the off the ball antics. I'm not talking about kicking the ball away or rising the opposition. I'm talking about needless!! fistwork.

i though he was more sinned against v cork than been the sinner, thought he kept his head well under the circumstances.
ye will be delighted to have him when the hard balls have to be won under the hill if the dubs are in the final, i would have no fear of him being sent off in the final.
i haven't commemted before on a kick out ball being kicked away at the death of an all-ireland final before and i wont now either.
get off galvins back.

I'm only winding Joan - Galvin is a gurrier as well as a good footballer - He is to you something similar (but not quite) to what Dooher is to us. You need that to wins AI's.

must say that i am one the people who have given out about Paul Galvin. i do think he is a fantastic player, but sometimes i do worry about him loosing his cool at matches and been sent off, none of us want that but i must say that he was definitely more sinned against than sinned last Sunday (as someone previously has stated). When i saw him been tackled and saw one of the the cork players going into his face, trying to rattle him, to see him put his hands up in the air and walk away smiling was just brilliant. it really made me smile.... he must keep that up against eithre dubs/mayo
