It is a reference to Robin Williams role in Dead Poet's Society. ...being pult by the helicopter that ferried the Dublin based Donegal players back to Donegal for training I trust I am not a member of the said society?

2014 Senior Final I was happy to be anywhere and hence happy behind the goal and behind that screen. I have no problem with the screen in theory --- it is obviously obstructive but you can get over that (my own fault for not arriving earlier). However once the sun hits it full on, the whole thing goes practically opaque!

Ogie and David Moran in Limerick after beating Mayo

Nothing is private but the Moran clan would be bigger than that, the moment captured above reminds me of when the head of genetics in TCD criticising my poem 'The Kerry Ingredient', he said all this father-son thing was scientific trash, and then we only learn yesterday that Fitzys great grandfather was on the Kerry team that won the first ever hurling All Ireland, was it Ballyduff representing the county? Is it that this was the first ever hurling All Ireland and Limerick won the first football one; oh how life changes.
Ah you don't like to rub it in but sometimes you just have to cut loose, and academics shouldn't try to be smart with us K people when it comes to breeding footballers!

In 1891 Kerry won their .first All Ireland......It was on hurling... Ballyduff, county champpions, represented Kerry. They had players from other parishes as well. Not sure if this was fully legit. I think Tipperary won their first AI in the football..

Looking back at the photo Mickmack took of the parade, I recall back in the 90's Limerick (I think) broke early from the parade and went onto get beaten, of course them breaking early from the parade was latched onto as one of the reasons they lost. I said it to the fella next to me when Donegal broke early from the parade as they were walking in front of the hill - I had forgotten about that until I saw the photo above.

I'd forgotten about that as well. The Donegal people around me in the Hogan were not one bit pleased when the team ran off before they had a chance to acknowledge them. Strange how it never seemed to attract a word of comment from the glitterati at all. Looking at the photos of Ogie and David reminded me that I passed by Ogie at the exit from the Stand when I was leaving the first Mayo game. Lots of people were coming up, shaking his hand and asking him to give David their best wishes for the next day. He was so gracious and gave everyone time and had a word for them and the majority seemed to be total strangers to him. It was lovely to see and a real sign of the esteem in which he is rightly held.

And the apple didn't fall far from the tree either with David a total and utter gent, the rest of the family are lovely people as well. A great bunch the Morans.

I met Ogie Moran up in Monaghan a couple of years ago with sully junior. Ogie was a lovely man to talk to. It was such a shame that David did his first cruciate that day. He was shaping up to be the real deal that year. Thank God he is delivering on that promise now. Ogie was always one of my favourite players as a young lad

Don't you just love transition I'm in their somewhere, completely hidden by the players, was standing beside Peter Crowley. Got an awful slagging that I'd deserted my post cos I'm missing from loads of photos.

Have to say fair play to the Donegal lads there to the left of Fionn. Not sure I could have stayed if we had lost. A fierce amount of them on the Hill stayed. In fairness I would always try and stay and 'take' the beating. I did so in 2011 and 2013 although I think 2011 was more down to shock! They must be going for sports men/women of the year.. I just spotted the same Donegal folk in the picture for the minor presentation and they are applauding there also.. It would be a tough one to swallow! I've stayed for victory speeches in the past when we lost - it can be a tough pill to swallow.. Though I guess it is made a bit easier if the winning supporters are gracious in victory. Nothing worse than getting it rubbed in your face which happened to me on one occasion!

I'm hoping for some help with finding a photo I'm looking for. It's of someone (I'm pretty sure it's Dara O'Cinneide, but can't be sure as you can only see the back of him) darting into a pub with the Sam Maguire. I'm guessing the pub is back west somewhere. It's a miserable day in the photo and the person carrying the cup is shielding himself from the bad weather. I reckon it was taken in the winter after the '04 All Ireland success. Thank you.

There's a picture out there from a munster final long ago. Pat Spillane is lying along the sideline after getting a bang to the head and there's a young fan inside the wire looking at him no more than a few years old, his name Kieran Donaghy

Anyone know where I can get old Kerry team photos of 60s and 70s like the ones seen in pubs

I'd be starting with the pubs, tis cold so the extra bulge under the duffel coat won't raise an eye brow
