Mick O'Dwyer revolutionised Kerry football back in 1975. The best team since then would be; Charlie Nelligan Jim Deenihan, Jn. O'Keeffe, P. Lynch P. O'Se, L. Flaherty, S. Moynihan J. O'Shea, S. Walsh B. Lynch, O. Moran, P. Spillane M. Sheehy, O. Liston, J. Egan. Some team.

Easily done fattom. Put Paudi O'Se at corner back, drop Mick Spillane, and put power in at wing back.

Yeah was thinking of that previously but Mick was a legend too, as was Paudie Lynch and many more I've left out! It's tough work! Some Team though

Kerry's best 4 from 74 to 04??? I'd say Mikey Sheehy, Jack O'Shea, Maurice Fitz and Seamus Moynihan.
If you mean their best XV I'd have...
Declan O'Keeffe Paide Ó Se John O Keefe Jimmy Deenihan Liam O'Flaherty Tim Kennelly Seamus Moynihan Jack O'Shea Dara Ó Sé Pat Spillane Maurice Fitzgerald Ogie Moran Mikey Sheehy Bomber Liston John Egan

Declan Keefe over Nelligan? ? Strange decision!!! Hard to argue with the rest of the team although I think we've had better players than Flaherty! I was gonna go for Dara at midfield too a class act but Walsh is also a legend! They are deffo the best 6 forwards though!

1. Declan O Keeffe 2. Paidi O Se 3. John O Keeffe 4. Paudie Lynch 5. Seamus Moynihan 6. Tim Kennelly 7. Ger Power 8. Jack O Shea 9. Dara O Se 10.Maurice Fitzgerald 11.Ogie Moran 12.Pat Spillane 13.Mike Sheehy 14.Eoin Liston 15.John Egan
I'd have O Dwyer as manager, Moynihan as captain and Fitzgerald as free taker. My best four players in order would be Fitzgerald,O Shea,Moynihan and Spillane

I agree with Falvey there. Diarmuid Murphy is certainly shaping up to be well worthy of an all star this year if Kerry do well though.
Moynihan as captain is a great call.
I reckon if we do this in 3 years time Gooch will be in there tussling with John Egan.
Daragh and Jacko midfield - we could badly do with that this year.

Charlie Nelligan was far superior to O'Keeffe. The forwards pick themselves and Dara and Jack OShea would take some beating.
However in the backs, I always felt Tom Spillane and Liam Flaherty were better than Tim Kennelly and Mick Spillane was more consistent than Paudie Lynch. Connie Murphy is worth mentioning as well as himself and Fitzy kept Kerry going for years in the early 90's.
Charlie Nelligan J Deenihan J O'Keeffe M Spillane S Moynihan T Spillane G Power J OShea D OSe M Fitzgerald O Moran P Spillane M Sheehy E Liston J Egan

You're surely joking about Connie Murphy??? I wouldn't even have him in Kerry's best XV 1987-1990.
The main reason I'd have Declan O'Keeffe'in goal is that his kickout was a good 10-15 metres longer than Nelligans. He was also a better shotstopper. His best year was 2002. He must have made at least 10 point blank saves that year (4 against Cork in Pairc Uí Chíomh alone) including 3 penalty saves. God knows how Cluxton got the All-Star ahead of him.

You named 5 players in your best 4!
And left out Spillane the most decorated player in the GAA - I'm not wrong in stating that he has more All Stars than any other player?!

Spillane has the most football allstars. I always thought he had 10 (which DJ has equalled) but according to RTE he "only" has 9. Which is it?

9 I think - DJ has the most ever in either code and yet he wasn't on Team of the Millenium!!!!!! Go figure!!

had he not received a bad knee injury early in his career Paudie Lynch would have been one of the all time greats. He played in many positions and I am sorry to say it but Mick Spillane was not in his league. Mick Spillane was extremely luck to get the nod ahead of Vincent O'Connor on a few occasions. O'Connor was the most wronged player during O'Dwyer's golden era.

It just means you have to give your best 4 AND you best 15. I think most people would be in agreement that the best 5 is Fitzy, Seamo, Jacko, Mikey Sheehy and Pat Spillane. Its a very hard choice to narrow that down to 4 though.

On his day Daragh O Se is right up there in the top 5 in my book. His control on games both defense and attack can be unreal.

On his day yeah - but we are looking at Consitent performers for kerry in last 30 years and doesn't merit inclusion in this regard in my books he is no where near Top 5!

My top four for what it's worth.
Sheehy, Egan, Jack O'Se, Moynihan.
team.....
1. Declan O Keeffe 2. Paidi O Se 3. Liam Flaherty (want to put him somewhere, and being honest, looking over last 30 years.....Johnno was nearing his finish, we saw all of Flah in that time, soldier on through the dark and the bring days). 4. Paudie Lynch 5. Seamus Moynihan 6. T. Spillane. 7. Ger Power 8. Jack O Shea 9. Dara O Se 10.Maurice Fitzgerald 11.Ogie Moran 12.Pat Spillane 13.Mike Sheehy 14.Eoin Liston 15.John Egan

I know Ger Power wasn't a wing forward but had to fit him in somewhere.

This is a pretty easy one. Charlie Paidi Johnno Paudie Pony Horse Power Jacko Sean Walsh Maurice Fitz Ogie Spillane Sheehy Bomber Egan
In my opinion, only 2 positions are remotely arguable. Deenihan could replace Paudie Lynch and maybe Dara has done enough to displace Sean Walsh. I wouldn't reject either Deenihan or Dara but the team stands. You could argue with swapping Ogie and Power but if Ogie wasn't on the 40 we'd probably lose !!
As for the best IV, it has to be in order Spillane, Jacko, Mikie and Maurice.
